Very well said Vega, I've seen ya around, if I recall you didnt start out as a sniper but found out was better than most other kits and you are a respectable shot tobesure. btw did you intend to say you dont snipe if your ping is over 50+, i think so:)=FDX=VEga wrote:
I would say that you can make an accurate shot without the use of bullet drop 120 metres, at 150 you need to be 1mm above the target, when it reaches 200m 2mm then 3mm for 250, 4mm for 300m
I don't snipe if my ping is under 50
of course you may ask, although I'm no expert and certainly not the best in game. I just have alot of time and IMO ...experience:)ai024 wrote:
May I ask you few questions?[GDC]SinnFein wrote:
anyone who does not feel there is bullet drop, needs to spend more time under a scope.
When you're saying "bullet drop exists" - do you mean random one or distance-dependent bullet drop by the height?
What distance is suitable for sure kill with M95? M24?
What average ping do you have?
#1 Drop, in my example refers to strictly the vertical/height reference.
#2 When I first started BF2 I was absolutely horrendous sniper, and I mean B.a.d.. The 24 just wouldnt do what i wanted...then my first unlock was the 95, I cut my proverbial sniper teeth with the 95, was pretty O.k with it nothing spectacular. Just when I had the 95 figured out, one day I picked up a 24......I was in love <dont tell wifey:)> I live and hopefully don't die much w/ the 24 only these days..
Sooo. I told that story to say that I dont recall my 95 set-ups if you will, nowadays I will only fire the 95 if my target is almost at my max viewing range ~300m+, to be honest those are the only shots I can make with that thing anymore:(
Lately, a dear friend of mine, Books_DCDF ( #8 on boards) got me playing Kubra dam quite a bit. I approached this map with the same mindset I used to have in city maps, and lets just say I was humbled:) I began routinely checking distances by giving order to various points on the map (to see the ranges) then through trial and error (and Books) got the 300+ shots down pat with the 24. Vega's #'s for compensation seem to be about right for the longshots. Kubra dam is a true test of AT&T, reach out and touch someone long distance tobesure. I would say 85% of our shots in there are all well above 270m+. Longest? I seem to recall ~354m headshot.
#3 Ping? I usually wont snipe much if my ingame ping is 60+, but heck sometimes it fluctuates so much during a map that I don't even notice until I miss more than 2x's. Then I trial and error a compensation set-up
I will give one tip: I wish i learned this in the beginning of my BF2 snipe days....I'm at #5 w/ rifle now and when i looked above at the lads in top 5, I was amazed at thier #'s of time with rifle in hand for the amount of kills they have. Then it dawned on me....PUT your rifle away when not shooting/scanning. This decreased my time with rifle in hand and FINALLY my K/d with rifle started to climb. I could care less about game K/d or kit k/d as I judge meself only with rifle in hand. I decided to experiment and started another account http://statpadder.com/cgi-bin/bf2i.cgi? … mp;start=0
yep, very little rifle time and a 15+ k/d...so I stopped playing the experimental account and transferred that knowledge to my main account..
Like I said lads, I'm not the best out there by far, I just truly enjoy sniping..
