Don't do it, this IS serious talk.  and debatable.

I haven't even played BF2 in about a year and my wife just got me this for the PS3.  I wish they just updated BF2 to this games Engine and made its destructable environment a little more realistic.

Right now I see nothing worth a crap out that replaces BF2, am I missing something?

Nope.It seems the quality of games being releashed tanked.

I lost interest about the same time as you and only over the last week ( stuck in a hotel in Erie ) have I been playing video games.

Raven Shield plays nicely on my laptop and it's still a great game.

Anything on the horizen by the maker of Battle Field ( for computer ).  I really like the squad based huge battle field multiplayer environment type game that plays semi-realistic, but it seems that all BF2 needed to take it to the next level was a new game engine, building that you can occupy, and better physics.

Hell, i might reinstall BF2 again and find some ex-military people that know how to play.

Aint the same people, but this is the sequel, the first was out in like 2001 or something. This looks pretty good. Tactical, vehicle, team based, etc etc etc.

BF2 was my first and only computer game. I have been playing it since it came out. About 6 of my friends all play it regularly and its still fun to hook up with them in game, kill, talk about killing and what we did in the bar at the weekend. I play PR and POE2 to which helps the lifespan of the game. They are great mods.
Just make bf2 with a new engine. Sorted.

I played BF2 for more than 1,000 hours, and I bought Bad Company for PS3, it isn't worthy.

BF2 has impacted my life, plain and simple. Ive loved video games ever since I started playing pong. Then I had a Coleco Vision with an Atari 2600 compatible console system. Loved the NES (just downloaded 2700 NES ROMs last night ) the Sega systems, and played a few PC games before BF2.

Right after I got out of the Marines a (Marine) friend of mine let me play BF2, it was Kubra Dam. I was instantly hooked. I couldn't believe the size and scale of the Air space all the way down to the Infantry play. Then he showed me this cool website that shows all of your stats. Life hasn't been the same since. I've spent more money then I wish to say on this game (hardware, etc.) but it has been a great experience. And after my "divorce" I know I can look back and say yeah I stayed out of a lot of trouble, skipping going out to bars and drinking (alot). So I would have spent the money anyways

Bad Company is an amazing game. I don't like that you cant go prone, but is very humorous and hit reg is great! But great thin about console games you can trade with friends with out buying it or (torrenting) stealing it I'm convince that BF3 will be Bad Co. with a different  game experience for us PC nerds. I'll be upgrading for that too.

Just in the last 2 months or so Ive haven't been playing as often as I have for nearly 3 years. Yeah its a great game, probably my favorite of all time.

Yup, every game I've had in the past few years were disappointments. There's a serious lack of good material out there.

want: BF3. I'd like a PR-esque BF, makes the game so much more fun.

For a while I had stopped playing games all together but about two weeks ago I started BF2 and 2142 again so I play both of them pretty much everyday now.

Lots of console games. Madden '09 is coming out Tuesday and I'm going to the midnight launch. Getting the Collector's Edition and then replacing the cover with Favre in a Jets jersey as EA has promised they'd release. Should be fun.

Console games are starting to take over for PC games again for me. Maybe once Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2 (as well as Left 4 Dead) come out soon, I'll get back to PC gaming.

I started to play POE2 with the tactical gamer boys again recently.  Haven't played bf2 or any mods for 1.5 years until last week.

I am going to reinstall BF2 again, can't remember if I ever installed it on my 64bit system or if it is possible?

Any how I will most likely play Battle Field Bad Company online more ( only have 2 hrs ) because it looks and sounds sweet on my plasma and home theater surround sound.  The Bradley's Bushmaster is right on with the sound, you can hear the little beasty cycling even.  The sound was so perfect it took me right back and I had to get up and have a cig. after lighting up some infantry, ahhhhh sweet release.

I so hope the BF people keep up the series and get something out on computer.

It appears that a BF3 is in the works for computers:

Quote from Bit-Tech interview with Ben Cousins:

BT: Between the console-based Bad Company and the more casual, kind of accessible feel of Heroes, some hardcore fans may be worried that the once realistic, PC-only shooter is now...

BC: Changed?

BT: Yeah, like it's going to suddenly become this casual, console-only shooter.

BC: Well, I'm the executive producer on the franchise. I'm really in charge of the entire Battlefield franchise and it's very clear to me that there are three... well, we have to make this a three-pronged assault with the series really.

First, there are consoles. Consoles are really big, we can't ignore them, we have to be on the consoles. Second, there's this casual experiment we're going with Battlefield: Heroes and the third prong is the hardcore PC gaming experience. We've made those in the past and we'll continue to make them in the future. We aren't specifically announcing anything, but we are still going to keep those hardcore gamers very happy.

A lot of people are confused when they see Heroes because they see it and assume that that is the future of Battlefield on PC, but it isn't.

So Heroes is not the future, but an experiment. More weight on Battlefield 3 please?

I might reinstall.  I haven't played battlefield for something like a year now, and didn't even bother getting 2142.
