With EU diplomats desperately trying to find a way of punishing Russia for their involvement in the recent South Ossetia Crisis it seems as though very little can be done. The question is what can be done other than raise their voices at the European gas giants.

Some officials are pushing for the block of Russia's membership in the WTO whilst others are trying to find some kind of financial blockade both of which are completely useless. In fact this whole situation and the EU's inability to punish Russia properly is a reminder of just how useless the League of Nations was during it's time.

So I was wondering what the members of bf2s think should be done to punish the Russians?

Let's keep this sensible

Whats LON anyway? Try to understand why they recognized those countries. Their citizens are there and got attacked. Its not like when Russia recognized them they are independent now. Georgian needs to do something, those are still their lands.

I actually don't see the sense in punishing Russia when they effectively just did the same thing the US did in invading sovereign Iraq and backing the secession of Kosovo from Serbia. I'm not trying to start mindlessly bashing the US, I'm just saying what they did is along the same lines and why should International rules be applied unevenly?

Nothing. Why do we feel the need to punish the Russians? Let's fucking sort out our own problems and our own invasions first. Besides like you said, there's not much we can do. It's all just talk by the politicians to .....I don't even know who they are trying to impress here. Clearly the local population of the European countries realise the hypocrisy going on here. So they're not trying to speak for their own countries.

All they're trying to do is keep the USA and their population happy with their stupid comments. Screw that. How about some independence ffs.

Punishing them because they've signed a ceasefire but have yet to move out of the occupied zone.

Yeah, I agree with you and think that the US should also be punished for their involvement in Iraq but I was kind of hoping to stay away from that. They've already hit the bitches of karma now that their economy is in the shits. lulz

Well beyond the apparent hypocrisies one has to face the fact that we arguably have more to lose from Russia than they have to lose from us. They could turn off the taps and party until the wheels come off while we freeze our butts off.

I agree with you but I don't really like the idea of doing nothing at all even though there's barely anything that can be done. From history we've learned that doing nothing can have serious consequences.

but then again what the hell can be done?

Then they wouldn't make any money for themselves if they didn't sell anything to anyone.

You know you've won when they bring up the WW2 parallel.

Whether it's about Muslims or whether it's about Russians (or.....Russian Muslims!)
