I dunno if its aluminium or steel but it doesn't really matter unless you are carrying the case all day long...

and btw if u got issues with the door openingwrong way u can put the front door like this:

No, I thought P182 is made of steel. Its Aluminum?
Judging by how heavy it is *looks left* (15.7KG), I do believe it is a Steel chassis.

Aluminium wins on all fronts - it's lighter and more thermally-conductive than steel.

I have steel chassis, the NZXT Lexa Blackline and I can tell you the difference in thermal conductivity between aluminium and steel has pretty much no difference in temps...

You can see I'm running some of the thermally hottest stuff on my steel case. No issues. It's totally other stuff that matters than the fact aluminium would conduct heat a bit better...

I agree. Mine is Aluminum and has wheels and is still heavy. Can't imagine if it was made of steel.

Unless he is carrying it around every day (I don't think u are that crazy?), it doesn't matter. If you really are so weak that you are unable to carry a steel chassing, I would recommend you to do something about it.

The Coolermaster HAF 932 is a great case... wire routing behind the motherboard is cool/ tons of airflow/ huge inside/looks industrial/ only thing i would change is the bright red led on the front fan... make it blue or something more subtle
Love is the answer

I know.

But, aluminium does conduct heat better, therefore it will have some effect - just not very much really.

I'd go with the 590 or 690.  I have the 690 and love it.  Internally they are almost the same.  The difference is the 590 doesn't have the bottom fan space and uses a 3 in 4 cage for the hdd's instead of the 5 built in on the 690 (which is great for cable management).  Other than that the differences are cosmetic.

I have a P182 and its not that heavy. its heavier than my mates 900 but its also heaps bigger... fitting my 4870 in his case was abit of a pain in the ass. im not sure whether its steel or aluminum but it does keep all my components nice and cool. i like the front door because it reduces the noise from fans ALOT (note: this is probably because my case is on my desk right next to me)

lol, ya I don't have a problem with carrying a steel chassis. And besides, I've never been to a LAN party in my life, so it's not a big issue.

I love that case, but after I took down the measurements, and sized it up to my current case, I realized it is HUGE. And, my components don't run hot enough to justify getting such a big beefy case.

What do you mean by bottom fan space? Are you referring to the vent for the PSU fan?

This is the first time i've seen the Centarion 590. 0_o  I own the Centarion 5 and I love it but this one seems to be bigger with a bottom PSU design.  I'm buying it!!!

The 690 has a spot between the psu  and HDD cage for a 120-140mm fan

Antec P182.  It is hands down the best case that I have ever owned (out of a Thermaltake Tsunami, Thermaltake Armor and Coolermaster Stacker 830).  The cable management is so good, I honestly cannot see a single cable in my case, the airflow is great, it doesn't look like a tribute to nerd-dom (which is good if you talk to girls), the only thing that I would ding it for is the lack of a removable motherboard tray... but I quickly got over that.  Oh, and it's silent.

If you want a case to be PERFECT, you're going to have to build it yourself.

I grabbed a bunch of 'MetalBoned' Lian-Li's for office PC's, and they've been fair to me. Removable tray, easy drive mounting, wire routing clamp on the backside, decent circulation...size might be an issue for some people, though.

The one thing I don't care too much for are the top-mounted USB/audio/Firewire ports but I can live around that.

This case is awesome, I have one, but it acts like a vacuum and will suck any dirt up off the floor and its heavy as hell.

Americans are way into 'i's. Just ask Apple.

I know.

But, aluminium does conduct heat better, therefore it will have some effect - just not very much really.

If you're relying on your chassis to dissipate heat, your cooling job's not good enough. Ideally, you should be able to use wood as a primary material.

I like SECC for its durability (if it's thick enough) and retro weight, but aluminum dominates chassis popularity (and variety). Ideally, if you want to go to LAN parties, you're probably going to be better off with a $1500 laptop job and its cooler...unless all your other buddies are rich kids with super high-performance desktops. With a laptop, you just stuff it into a pack, bring it in, whip it out and boom: you're done. For an extra bit of carrying, you could even bring your 22"-24" monitor and a meaty click-clackity keyboard to use instead (it's already a given that you don't want to frag with a touchpad).

Even if a desktop case is strong, some of these heavy heat sinks and video cards do NOT like to be woggled around during transport (thus, build/mod your own if you want PERFECT; vga struts), and who wants to disassemble/reassemble their PC all the time?

Or if you really want to blow someone's mind, use an old Apple for your case.

I love the brushed aluminum. The texture is great. It comes in black and silver. Here are some features that I really like:

Mesh grill AND a clear plastic cover-

Yaaa, but its 22 inches deep! Long case is loooooong, and its $80 more then what I can get that Centarion 590....Man I just can't decide, I DO think the gigabyte one is cooler looking though, and would match my brush aluminum front usb hub and media panel...

I think I'll just get it, fuck the consequences!
