When I was in France a couple of years ago, I noticed that a lot of restaurants gave their waiters portable point of sale machines. When you asked for the check, the waiter would whip out this contraption, swipe your card, then give you the receipt. It was fast and simple and efficient.

In the US I don't think I've ever seen these. You have to wait for your damn waiter to show up, then you have to flag him down, then you have to ask for the check. He then fucks off for 5 minutes, comes back with your check. You then have to put down the card and he'll come back 2 minutes later and take it. He swipes it, gives you the receipt, and you write in the tip. Fucking stupid.

Not so fast. Every time I went into a restaraunt in Europe, ESPECIALLY France it took fucking forever to get our food. So the few extra minutes it takes to get your check pales in comparisson to the 2  and a half hour "dining experience" tbh. Besides, who the fuck uses cash anymore anyways? When we go to a restaraunt to eat I give my card to the waitress/ waiter when they take our drink order. It's customary out here to just give your card when you sit and when you are done they automatically bring you the bill. Kind of like a bar tab except it's with you know, food.

And while we are at it why the fuck would I want to swipe my card myself like I'm at a CVS register or something. I am paying you, therefore you are waiting on me now go get me my fucking bill.

Irrelevant. If a waitstaff member is going to scam you what difference does it matter if they do it before or after? Besides, whenever a transaction is done with one of my cards I get an email on my cell phone so if I am siting at the table and see a transaction I will call over my waiter and skull fuck him. Do they not have bar tabs in Europe? Thought so.

It wouldn't be the waiter that scams you, as in he works there. It will be someone doing a few hours or someone that isn't actually a waiter. Not to mention that's not how a scam would work. They would get your card details through a small scanner and then use them whenever they want in the future and you wouldn't get a message because they wouldn't use it until they're miles away.

Bar tabs in Europe? Well when I go to Europe the bars I were at didn't no...
