I was wondering if you guys could tell me if this site has good prices? I am not very knowledgeable about computers or prices, but am learning from this section every day.
http://www.microcenter.com/
Judging from the Recommended Specs Thread from 2 1/2 years ago just copy 'n paste searching, this is what the closest/or cheapest results the site gave me were. What else would you recommend.

for ultrahigh settings I would say:
CPU: AMD64 4000+ or higher
GPU PCI-E: 2x Nvidia 7900GTX 512MB or ATI X1900XT Crossfire
RAM: 4096 MB
http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=43111&p=1

Here's what i came up with, what will this do for me and what else do I need?(links to microcenter or other US site appreciated)
AMD AMD® Boxed Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 7750 Black Edition
SKU: 010538
$59.99

BFG Technologies NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT 512MB DDR2 PCIe 2.0 Graphics Card
SKU: 809632
$139.98

Corsair Memory Gaming 4GB DDR2-800 (PC-6400) CL5 Memory Kit (Two 2GB Memory Modules)
SKU: 022905
$119.99

PowerSpec Certified Powerspec TX366 micro-ATX Computer Case (Will this case be big enough? I'm lookin' for a really cheap case, there is an even cheaper one http://www.microcenter.com/single_produ … id=0257843 which would be better?)
SKU: 853960
$24.99

You could compare with newegg. Newegg usually has some of the best prices.

microcenter has better prices and a larger hardware selection than Fry's and Bestbuy, but newegg is the way to go online. I go to microcenter in emergencies like last week my psu exploded, so i went to microcenter for a decently priced psu.

Depending on how much money you have to spend, a monitor over 20" would be nice.

I might be able to get together $1050 exact, but under $700 is what I'm shooting for. Also, would I be better with 32 or 64 bit OS?

(Edit) With This Computerhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6883227137, I was reading the System Req's http://forums.gamespace.net.au/battlefi … tml?t=4321 and it looks like the graphics card may not be supported, is that correct, or would it be fine and just better than needed?

Would this be a good computer, I could probably convince my mom, and be able to get it and pick it up in(according to them) 18 minutes. That would be amazing. http://www.microcenter.com/single_produ … id=0302799

I think I want to go with this monitor, cause I'm cheap and I doubt my parents would be willing to spend any more. http://www.microcenter.com/single_produ … id=0277173

Im assuming you want this for games? If so, the rig you posted would be absolutely terrible. Something like what Ebug posted would be 1000x better

can you not just buy individual parts and put it together yourself? it really is pretty easy, and everyone here would be willing to help. you will save A LOT of money by building your own

That has a very weak graphics card, wouldnt be great for games. Like phish, I suggest building. Computers, for the most part, are like expensive legos (yes, lego nazis, legoS). All the parts are keyed in so they can only fit one way

If you add an ASUS P5Q LGA 775 motherboard and a Samsung DVD drive, the price comes to $566.92 before tax and shipping. After tax and shipping (estimated to San Francisco), the total is $640.48

If you can hold off till you have a bit more than $700, you can get a good 22" monitor on top of all that.

that Radeon 4830 is pretty weak, any way you could move up to a 4850? they are like $130

Microcenter has some of the best deals out there, but they're usually in-store pickup only.  Which sucks for me, since there are none for states around.

Microcenter is great if you live near one... they match internet prices on procs... and they have great deals off and on... and no shipping...
if you can pick it up in the store...

I would get a 4850 ati and make sure you get a good PSU  (Lot's  Of weird issues with cheaper PSU's... trust me)
and the antec 900 is around 80-100 bucks and moves a lot of air to keep things cool... heat with a smaller case can create issues as you know...

If you do buy the parts... we can help you put it together...
Love is the answer

I live about 11 miles straight down the freeway from one, so it would be easy to pick up.

Microcenter's prices are sometimes lower and sometimes higher... It all depends. I go their a lot, because it's less than 10 minutes from my house. The sales people their are usually morons though, so try to avoid them...

I'm not going to bother skimming through this entire thread to see if I was beaten to the punch...but don't use a 9400GT for gaming. Not for that price. Add a few more bucks and you could easily bump it to a 9800GT or better.
