I was doing higher P.E, but dropped to Int 2.. Pretty good at that. Biology and maybe geography are good points for me too.

Yeah, well, the academic side of things failed.

I got my standard grades, swore I would study for my highers, never really bothered. Facing exams in about 2-3 weeks, 2 highers and 3 int 2s, because I dropped 3 highers due to being shit. I'll be lucky if I get a C on either of my highers, and above Bs on my int 2s. But, only myself to blame.

What do you mean low pay?! I have at least two older guys in my classes at Colorado Technical University that are making six figures without there degree.  Me personally, I want a WAN admin job with a reputable company, if I work hard I will achieve it! Don't worry finny, there's plenty of money in IT

Doesn't really matter whatever you decide so just pick what you like honestly. Most degrees are worth nothing nowadays unfortunately. Too many graduates, not enough jobs- which is why even the high flyers are having to do masters and such when they finish. If you're not academic then the best thing to do is make sure you pick up a ton of work experience and a portfolio of references, anything that will fill out your cv and make you distinguishable from the herd.

tech schools dont allow transfer credits in or out of the school usually

Gotta have good work experience

Gotta have good extracurricular activities (make it up if you have to)

Plenty of job in IT it's not all techny nerdy stuff you see in BF2s tech.  IT consulting for example: Strategy, Performance, Change, ERP, Security, Enterprise Architecture....christ, the list is endless.  It's all propriety methodologies & knowledge you wont find on the interwebz.

I'm doing a HNC in computing, specifically tech support.

If your local college is anything like mine, its not a difficult course, and if you're not a total spastic it'll lead on to a HND and uni pretty seamlessly.

Don't worry about your exam results, they tend to be pretty forgiving if you're good in the interview and show a desire to learn. I left school with 2 standard grades and no highers (lol) and they set me up with a couple of remedial courses leading to the HNC.

Specialize in one area and one area alone. You will profit. Starting out in an IT helpdesk is probably your best option, then move up from there. Just know it'll be at least 5 years before you start raking in the dough. Don't waste college loan money on a meaningless degree. Go for a computer networking degree at any college. Really, it doesn't matter to an interviewer which college you went to or how much you paid for it. They want to see a degree and several certifications, backed by 5 years of on the job experience.
