Doesn't really matter whatever you decide so just pick what you like honestly. Most degrees are worth nothing nowadays unfortunately. Too many graduates, not enough jobs- which is why even the high flyers are having to do masters and such when they finish. If you're not academic then the best thing to do is make sure you pick up a ton of work experience and a portfolio of references, anything that will fill out your cv and make you distinguishable from the herd.

Plenty of job in IT it's not all techny nerdy stuff you see in BF2s tech. IT consulting for example: Strategy, Performance, Change, ERP, Security, Enterprise Architecture....christ, the list is endless. It's all propriety methodologies & knowledge you wont find on the interwebz.
