Hello, I am going to buy me a new computer soon, however idk what to buy.

It will be a desktop.
It will have to hold Bf2, and some more games.

I am trying to spend less that 1000 dollars.
I don't need the monitor, just the computer.

I am open for suggestions

thanks

Why don't you try cobbling a list of components together and then ask for some advice on what to change?

I find it's more satisfying that way and you usually end up with a system more appropriate to you. Go have a flick through Newegg...

I'm sure you'll get loads of responses with lists of components, but you're better off finding them yourself and then posting that list here and checking that it's all good. Go, go, go!

Good luck on your build.

What's Mugen 2?

Whenever I hear Mugen, I think of this.

Scythe mugen 2 is a cpu cooler.

Anyways I'd go for 1066MHz or even 800MHz DDR2 ram and the GA-MA790X-UD4P. DDR3 is, still, kinda pointless.

here its like almost same priced as DDR2 setup so I think its worth it

edit: oh the board doesn't support PII 940, switch that to 955, 945 or 925

How disappointing. To me Mugen will always be about stupid 2D fighting with 1000s of ludicrous characters and fights. Ryu vs Homer Simpson and suchlike...

Lot of money too. Twice the price of the Freezer 7 Pro.

I suppose it is quite big....

Looks almost as big as my old Socket A Alpha Heatsink. That was a real beast. Alpha knew how to make heatsinks VAST. They never came with fans though, had to get them separately.

I honestly do not understand what most of you are saying, because I am not that great with Tech.

Here is something I am thinking of, but maybe something a little cheaper:

I would appreciate if anyone could help me with this, and maybe if someone could post the requirements for Bf2, would be nice

thanks

BF2 runs on pretty slow graphics card. You need to make a decision whether you are going to play some newer games too, or just BF2 etc.

That HP prebuilt is waste of money, VERY overpriced.

edit: And what kind of windows use you do?

For windows use I mean do you do photo/video editing, office use such as word etc. or use some other heavy programs? multitasking a lot? and so on....

Do you know someone who could? Or order from a store that has build assembly service (not sure if newegg has). It will cost something like $50 and they put it together for you.

Tbh, when I got my first parts I was the same, I'd never built a computer before in me life. It's very easy to do, you just gotta take your time at it. Everything fits one way, unless you force it in and break it.

Hell if you wanted, if you got some other computer you can use while putting the parts together I'd be more than happy to talk you through it on xfire VIA a call or whatever suits ya. Not to mention, building it yourself will be good experience for the future:)

Nah thanks a lot though, I don't have xfire, and I dont trust myself to build a computer, because I might really screw something up.

If you knew my age, you'd know i cannot build a computer.

I know someone who can build one.

Well, ok, but age doesn't matter as long as you can read you'll be able to:)

Best of luck with the computer when you get it!
