OK I found out earlier today that my 2 year old son has been diagnosed with swine flu, scary stuff, even more worrisome is that I have a 10 day old baby daughter at home as well. So they have put my son on antivirals(tamiflu) & we have to take our daughters temp every 2 hours if it goes above 38 we have to phone for an ambulance & she has to go to intensive care, as soon i heard this i was shitting bricks tbh, now my son is as strong as an ox bless him, he eats healthy, drinks plenty of water but my daughter was premature & still now only just tips the 6lb mark.
So my question is has anyone here come in contact with Swine flu because i am interested to know how the sufferer is being dealt with because tbh the NHS here in the UK where I am don't seem to give a toss, now I understand that as health professionals they deal with this all day everyday so have become a little detached but seriously when i was told my daughter would have to go to hospital it was like the nurse was ordering a Big Mac.
But the kicker here is that my son caught it off my sister who is a year 1 teacher at a local primary school. She is now signed off work with confirmed swine flu. Should the entire populous be given the antivirals as a precaution its a 10 day course instead of 5 day if you actually have H1N1 & why the fuck aren't Mexico being held responsible for there lack of action in containing the original outbreak, they should at least have to help towards the cost of antivirals.
Also how would you face your sister know that she could hospitalise your new born kid?
