They don't have seasons either. It's either hot as balls summer or mild winter. Nothing in between.

Were you there in (I think) 2002 when we got a half inch of ice and the entire state shut down for two days?

yep.  loving the fact base was closed and no work.  i think it happened in 03 one time too.  I remember it snowed twice while I was at hood and they closed base 3 times because of road conditions.

popeyes and the shoppete were still open and my b's were across the street

It was funny as hell too because I kept having people from Florida calling me and asking how to drive on ice.

Then there's Big Bend National Park.

central texas had no hills.  eastern texas had no hills although it did have forests and clay.  as far as I remember, northern texas at the okie border had no hills.

Must be south of San Antonio because I never saw anything along I-35 or that highway that runs west of Austin down to SA that could even remotely be considered hilly. Nor up in the panhandle or east on 20 out near the Tyler area.

22 freight cars derail in Texas; no injuries
(AP) – 4 hours ago

SANTA FE, Texas — Authorities say 22 freight cars derailed in southeast Texas and caused a brief evacuation after a nonhazardous substance leaked. No injuries were reported.

Joe Faust, a spokesman for Burlington Northern Santa Fe, says it's not immediately clear what caused the Houston-bound train to derail Thursday morning in Santa Fe.
