Need a little help here guys.
The rig I'm currently using is getting hit and miss framerates with games, all of which fall below the specs.
Two games notable for this are BC2 and Crysis 2.
Sometimes they work great, others pretty poorly.
My specs are as follows:
i7 870 3.00GHz
6GB RAM
GTX 460 1GB
1 TB HD
Monitor runs at 1680x1050
Now these are all above the recommend for both games and yet, in BC2 in particular, stuff gets pretty choppy. Now surely this should be running as smooth as can be, right?
Is it an optimisation issue or too much background shit? I defragged my HD last night, and that gave a noticeable performance enhancement. However, when I tried the games again this morning, they're back to their old ways.
Appreciate any help.
