you just get mad at bunny hoppers because you usually can't kill them, and ultimately they end up killing you.

I spent 8 years in the US Army and not once was I told hopping around the battlefield like an idiot would save my life. Keeping your ass down and seeking cover keeps you alive.

By complaining about bunnyhoppin your showing that your a noob that cannot aim. If people are hopping you just shoot them, its not hard. You suck if you can't shoot ppl while they're hoppin. Its a tatic in the game so get used to it.

False.  It is not that most of us can not aim, or hit you...look at the first photo.  Myself and others just think it's silly.  Bunny hoppers should wear shirts that says "look im neato".

My point, it's just silly. In the air or ground your just another target for me to knock down and t-bag your face with a fresh smell of love. Enjoy.

Well if this is true, it sucks big time, no wonder there's a real turn off for serious gamers if there's people that hack and crack their way through a game. For me personally, I prefer to kill or be killed fairly.

PB, get your fingers out and bust this hack.

They can hop around all they freaking want to. It's when they use it to exploit the fact the m203 has 0% deviation when jumping that bugs the hell out of me.

It is SOOOO aggrivating when I will put 2 rounds into someone with l85, they will hop over the shot thats going to kill them, and oneshot me with the damned noob tube.

Or the retards that use it so they can use the m203 at point blank range and avoid most of the splash damage.
Except half the time they screw it up and kill themselves too.

Bunny Hopping: A tactic of jumping repeadityly in conjunction with mouse/WSAD movements to allow constant jumping without a loss of speed (sometimes even an increase). In games like RTCW and CS (and a bunch more), it actually takes skill to bunny hop, as you need to have precise timing or you'll run out of stamina and or just stop moving. However, in BF2, it simply means jumping a lot, no skill required. The main problem is a) its hard to hit people while they're in the air, b) hits register a lot less when people are in the air, and c) bunnyhopping in conjunction with the "noob tube" (aka Grenade Launcher the assult kits gets) is really overpowered / annoying. The fact that people can jump 2 feet in the air also makes no sense at all.

Its probably as noob as most of the tactics out there, in fact you could easily say pretty much anything is noob in bf2. But for those who argue tactitcs like bunny hopping or excessive proning/camping or okay for reasons like "whatever keeps you alive is fine" or "its something you do in real life", you have to realise stuff cant work that way. If they made a game that was true to real life, no one would play it, as it would be a shitload of people just camping and waiting for someone to come out, and you can expect there'd be a whole lot more weapon whoring then there is now. What we need is a complete balance of weapons, movement and environment. This has never really been achived in any FPS that i know, but theres a lot BF2 could do to get a bit closer to that magic FPS equilibrium.

hopper+mytank=KABLEWIE!!! ^_^
fastrunning+mytank=oh no, theyre behind a wall now.

I dont know why people still bunny hop.. i can understand its tactfulness in infantry combat.. but against a tank!?  youre just slowing yourself down and making yourself a more obvious target.

Well I know you can throw c4 farther if you jump+run, but even then, like you said, you really just make yourself a nice target for tanks.  many people use vehicles a lot and spend no time practicing infantry combat, and all they know how to do is bunny hop+m203 or just prone and empty their entire clip (which usually gets them killed). I enjoy just owning people with the pump shotty QCB, as they dont really understand the concept of aiming or bursting. This is all fine for me, except when the noob tube comes into play.

I recally a time when i was at an Internet Cafe playing BF2, and this guy next to me was on top of a house on sharqi just spaming the gl at anyone. When he died, he turned to me and said "Man, theres nothing like just owning everyone with that grenade launcher." I wanted to punch him in the face soooooo badly, but i instead told him to "get some fucking skill." He shutup after that, but continued to whore his gl...

Bunny hopping and dolphin diving are bullshit whereas hiding behind a wall is legit and realistic. That's the difference.

Yeah, My base commander was just telling me today how the army decided bunny-hopping (fairy-dancing) is such a revolutionary idea in tactics that beginning this winter we'll be given standard issue pogo-sticks, auto aim included.

maybe everyone could use a bit more tactics and try killing the person before they see you and start jumping all over the place, and then maybe we wouldnt have to read ten threads a day on the topic....

Oh is that why your profile shows 7 deaths by noob tube?  either you do not know what a noob tube is, thus should shut up about it.  Or you should check your facts before oppening your mouth either way.

As for bunny hopping, it should be eleminated.  This is a tatical simulation game, if you want to hop go play UT2004.  where bunny hoppying fits into the game play style.

As for why we hate bunny hoppers, because it is not a tactic it is a bug.  When you are hopping your hit boxes are screwed, so you can hardly be hit.  Belive me, if hopping did not fuck your hit boxes to hell, so we could hit you, aside of when you touch the ground or by the grace of god.  You would not be hopping near as much.

hahaha that is hilarious, I agree with some of the earlier comments too, only allowing say 3-5 jumps in 10 seconds (maybe depending on the kit?). I mean, like how K9Trooper put it, you won't go into ANY real life war zone and see people (or pictures of people) jumping around shooting at each other.

Also, Locarno, "bunny hopping" is when a player beginds jumping repeatively to avoid taking damage from an enemy's fire. I find it annoying when people do it , but I mean when a sniper is out of range of my shot gun I may jump ( very rare though) to not get nailed in the head. Bunny hopping is not a matter of it being "cheap" it is a matter of maturity and using it and the correct time, not as your over-all game plan.

Bunnyhopping is a common FPS tactic. I use it in games that allow it.

But, for Battlefield 2 it should probably be changed.

Personally, I think that if you really have a problem witha bunny hopper, you should start aiming. It doesn't take that much skill to crouch, aim, and fire. While I don't really like bunny hopping, I sometimes use it when I'm out of ammo or running away from a tank. It may not be the best tactic, but it saves my life, so I use it. However, I do not by any stretch advoacate hopping as a valid strategy all the time--it just is stupid.

Why are people bashing going prone? Dolphin-diving is just plain stupid, but prone is one of the best (and most realistic) ways for anyone to fight. It's also one of the only ways, if you're Support.

Ever since I started keeping my head down and my feet on the ground, my K/D has seen a steady increase.

I can't stand bunny-hopping... I always kick their asses (try hopping around in front of a PKM and see how well you fare), but it eats up my ammo and accuracy rating. Sure, I can resupply myself, but it's a pain in the ass reloading all the time.

If you can't live without bunny-hopping, go play UT.
If you can't live WITH bunny-hopping, go play an RTS. The idiots are here to stay.

it is the gay ass combo of bunny hopping and m204..or (03) lol.
Just lame combo to use on people....each time I kill a bunny bitch I go and crouch up and down on their face so they enjoy that nice smell of my sack.

I actually have bunny hopped in a tank, i was just cruising along at Karkand and...I do this bunny hop 100m in to the sky and land it, then keep driving. That is a true story, obviously a glitch because I don't need hax.
No one noticed it though, strange.

Oh, and I bunny hop 95% of the time in on close infantry combat and there is nothing you can do about it, asides from respawning after i kill you.

While Bunnyhopping is quite gay, I think Dolphin diving isnt that much stupid/unrealistic if you just do it once and stay prone afterwards... I use that alot when I jump into cover or for jumping to a soldier to revive him...

And yes... imo everyone running around with the m203 ready to shoot is a n00b (not everyone using the assault guy, but using it as your main weapon & especially in CQB, where they kill themselves all the time)
