I'm assuming a majority of people on BF2S.com will be migrating, if not assimilating Bf2142 upon release and was just kind of curious to know how many people are going to do so? I actually wasn't going to get BF2142 till I saw the ingame footage of it... and it actually didn't look like anything new, which is okay for me! That might mean my 9800 Pro could last me a lot longer than I thought it would and actually take me to some next level of Battlefield gaming LOL!
But what I was really curious about was how are people's notions on it? Is it what we all fear for it to be? Or hate it for? That it could most possibly replace BF2 and that we all had just wasted 60 (80 dollars if you're gonna get all the booster packs) for something that would only last us a year+? I kind of think that's a really messed up scheme and that EA is offering way too much for a gaming diversity too soon in a single franchise that it could seemingly replace the previous one now we all love at the drop of a hot. But what do you think?
So for the consensus shows that in BF2142 there are 4 core kits that mix and match the ones that exist now in BF2 so everything is a bit more specialized as well as diverse. Not really sure if people are gonna play Titan Mode or the normal mode in BF2142 more than the other but Bf2 could surely use a couple of other modes as well. CTF, some kind of Assassination or Hostage mode, not sure if a Last Man Standing type mode would be a good idea though...
Anyway, fact of the matter is, BF2 & BF2142 seem to sit as two individually driven games that I'm wondering if people will ultimately leave BF2 behind and just move on to Bf2142, knowingly they've just deliberately wasted their money and precious time to receive so many awards that they could have just very well waited out for something else more worthwhile? Because I honestly feel ripped off that this is all coming together now but I'm a bit optimistic about the new game itself so the feeling is mixed and confusing. I don't really hate BF2142 but I don't really like it either.
I just hope BF2142 has everything worked out a little better than BF2 did and that it won't see so many update changes like BF2 has in it's short, 1 year wake.
