BF2S Forums Bf2 & Bf2142. Which one'll you play more?

The Vast majority of people should Migrate to Quake Wars........  Havent we learned enough dealing with EA over these last couple patches?

I think EA should put 2142 up in their ass, and try to fix BF2 for REAL!

i will probably go 2142 between 8 months and 1 year after its been released, unless it proves to be the best thing ever, i kinda reserved on this until i find out how much its been nerfed

I will buy Quake Wars for sure...also Crysis when it's out. But BF2142? No way! Don't like it. I yet want to play BF2 for a "couple" of days!

I fear the future's games since I'll definitely need a computer that could run next gen stuff by then. My god. An Athlon XP +3000, 1.5gigs of RAM and an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB series is not doing me any justice and this PC CANNOT upgrade any further with the videocards.

On any other given note, I feel as though BF2142 is an extension of what BF2 should have been, not gameplay-wise, but function-wise. Where I'm getting at is that Bf2 was a kind of practice for EA to jump up on the FPS bandwagon from an apparent history EA has that's been overlooked (C&C: Renegade anyone?). When I looked at BF2142, alot of C&Cesque qualities were very noted for me. Sure most sci-fi's can follow up on what the FUTURE OF WAR could look like, but considering this is EA, they have a very alluding concept on their hands. The walkers in BF2142 look very similar to C&C: Tiberian Sun's walkers, the vertical assault chopper looking thingies look almost exactly like the Orca vertical assault fighters from the C&C series... in a way it seems like EA"s just assimilated old ideas and bringing them back up. Also, while they're at it, hey, let's bring back C&C3:Tiberium Wars while they're at it huh?

Seems like with the work they put into BF2142, it only 'inspired' them to bring back the oldskool Westwood Studios' sister company franchise back up to date. Now I could argue more so about another company they owned, Bullfrog, and another game that was mighty overlooked, Dungeon Keeper, but I won't, I'm trying to stay on topic here.

What I'm thinking of, is that EA should learn a lesson from Blizzard (Not the one we know of today, but the one everyone knows and loved at one point in the late late-mid 90's to earlier 2003, about times when they created stuff from Warcraft up to Warcraft 3 (Starcraft, Blackthorne, all those SNES games they created, the Vikings and all that, yes, up until one of the head creators of Blizzard left, then it's just become a lost cause.) But that EA should learn from Blizzard, in the sense that Blizzard makes games that last a long... LONG time and are still played today. Now if EA could figure out how to implement that kind of innovation into BF2... and POSSIBLY BF2142 but make them important in their own ideas and all... then I think they could be landing themselves into something a whole lot better than having to pump something out every 6 months.

I dunno why they do that but it makes me wonder how EA can supply itself with so much output than an assumed input of income to continue them to drive their demand to keep on making games.

I have money to burn so I'll try it out, but will most likely stick with bf2 as my shooter for sometime as the future stuff doesn't interest me unless its an RTS like Supreme Commander by Chris Taylor the maker of Total Annihilation the best RTS ever, hands down, anyone who would argue the point is foolish.
