As I see it among the biggest problems throughout the Battlefield-series are the unlimited resources. In many ways they've tried to address the problem which began in 1942. Nade-spamming from indestructible ammoboxes for example.
You are carrying a limited amount of ammunition, but how often does it affect you? Usually the grenades and other explosives run out. But many doesn't live to reload their last magazine. Does it matter? No, because everyone respawns again fully equipped.
Compare CS to BF, the players are more careful, since they do not respawn if killed. I'm not saying we should abandon the ticket-system, but rather manage the resources in a different way, since then players would think twice before throwing away tons of grenades, using them as chewing-gums.
This is not realistic (since when you die you actually become another soldier), but limiting the amount of explosives per round to a certain player would make them use the explosives more sparse.
I mean, what sane person would spend a hundred thousand dollars or so in eliminating ONE enemy soldier. I.E. shooting someone with SRAW or Eryx. The cost doesn't bother the player since he/she just have to find somewhere do reload, or die. The enemy will guaranteed aid you in this.
The same goes with vehicles like tanks, apc's along with airplanes and helicopters. A country would just not use any amounts close to the numbers of tanks, apc's, planes etc. used on a map in BF. Unless of course it threatened the whole country's survival over one battle.
It has been discussed whether or not they should restrict vehicles, etc. to ranks or the like. I think this is a bad idea, being forced to play on a "practice server" in order to use the fun vehicles. That is, I don't want to play on a server full of idiots just to get a taste of the real fruit. Even if such system was implemented, we would never get rid of morons dedicating their lives ruining the game experience. They will surely gain access and torment us like a pestilence. Ban them? Yes. But there will always be more.
And now to something else, everyone of you who makes such a big deal in informing everyone how much you think the game sucks. You can't really deny it's a good game, otherwise you wouldn't be playing it. Which everyone here obviously is.
You might say that DICE hardly listens to the community. That might partly be true, but there are allot of thoughts out there and they are not reading themselves. In fact, everytime you post something of no value in forums like these, you make it harder for DICE to improve the game with the community's proposals.
The game may have many glitches, some of them were attended to from 1942 to Modern Combat, some still remain. But it's still a positive development. Try creating something with perhaps millions of people screaming at you what to do. Next time, think before you post or in any way express your thoughts.
