Doesn't help any when bush calls the "war on terrorism" a Crusade on international television.
Why not? It is what it is. We are at war with Islam. I wish it weren't true. Seeing how countries like Iran, syria, and the likes all promote violent acts against non islamist one can't help to think we are at war.Even though the majority of muslims are peaceful it doesn't help that the leaders of these people promote violence. As long as the leaders are extremist we have no joice but to go to war. If the peaceful muslims overthrew their leaders then we could be at peace. But thats not going to happen.
There. Thats the kind of stupid, ill thought out comment that encourages terrorism. Point is that every religion has its complete idiots. And im not just talking about Islam, or even the IRA. What about The Western leaders such as Bush, getting priests to pray over his soldiers before he sends them away, and issuing statements saying that they are fighitng in the name of God?
Yeah I'd have to agree. The Muslim fundamentalist do not represent the majority of Muslims around the world. The "terrorist" are against western ideals. In fact, Muslims in the U.S. and other western societies are as much as a target as Christians. If you polarize this conflict into Islam vs. Christianity then you dismiss the true cause of this "war" we are currently engaged in.
Furthermore most of Iran's statements are aimed towards Israel. Other statements are aimed towards the U.S. effort to block them from obtaining nuclear technology. I don't see this a a direct attack on Christianity, neither do I see the U.S. stating any hostilities to say Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Egypt, etc etc.
Seems to me to be based on ideals rather then religion.
