The fact that "huggle" and "macbook" are used in the same thread makes me want to avoid Apple altogether.

But wow...I mean wow...1600's and 7300's. You'll never see those in a PC.

ERmmmmmmmmmm Macs are PCs now... Intel based processors, you're paying for the box and the OSx, I have a mac and love it, but now there isn't much of a dividing line. I love macs and Pc's wh00t!
Yeah, the dividing lie has been smashed to pieces. This just goes to show that people are willing to pay a couple thousand more for a similarly spec'ed Mac, just for the brand name and the OS. Oy. The way I see it, both windows and Apple OS's suck, but Linux just seems to hard to get for me. So I'm gonna stick with my PC. Macs are fine computers, but whe it gets down to it, they're expensive, and not any better.
Oh, I do have question though: other than RAM, can you upgrade a Mac? Like a dif. processor, or fan, or PSU, or gfx card, or snd card, or HDD, etc, etc.?

Heres a little comparison I made (Word 2007 YAY) The best of Mac vs. the best of PCs:
https://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j318/daysniper/mavsfalcon.jpg

YOU DECIDE
BTW, you can customize these, rigs, as I did. I tried to pick the best items from each choice. However, when given a choice that didn't matter (ie, water cool vs. fan) I picked the less costly.

So I guess I'm not as worldly as all of you, but if you can right click(etc.), run Windows XP, and play Microsoft/Windows games, AND it uses Intel chips, what the hell is the difference anymore?

If you want to compare things, at least try and make them equal:

The Mac Pro is a workstation rather than a gaming machine, thus the comparison is inherently flawed.
However,

2 x 3.0Ghz Woodcrest > 1x 2.66Ghz Quad Core (even overclocked to a reasonable degree)
The Mac Pro has FOUR times as much memory as the gaming machine - for a fair comparison, remove that to save $4600!
The FSB of the Mac runs at 1333Mhz vs. 1066Mhz for the gaming PC

As for graphics cards, you compare 4 cards intended to run 8 displays against 2 dedicated gaming cards. The closer comparison might have been the Nvidia Quadro card offered by Apple. Either way, even taking the default Mac card and scrapping it,

$10,828 + 2 graphics cards + sound card + physics card  costs less than your 'Beast', and is arguably more capable as well.

I always like the Mac OS. I dropped my Mac for a PC a few years ago cause of the total lack of games.

I'd still hold off on getting one though. Part of the point of getting a Mac is to use OS X, not to get a new case for your PC. When I can run BF2 on OS X without any emulators and such garbage, I might buy one. I haven't done much research on Parallels or whatever it's called though, so my knowledge of emulating a PC in the Mac OS may be outdated by about 3 years

The advantage (I think) is to use OSX for as much as you can, and make do with parallels or boot camp for all the windows apps you can't possible live without.

This gives you the best of both worlds - the ease of use and security of OSX, with the windows apps you have to hae

Mac is sold at a religion rather then an operating system. thats why they stereotype them selfs as 'cool' while others are lame. They are starting to use every aspect that pc is known for and try and call them selfs better for just using the norm. At one time I did think about getting a mac but I really dont want to anymore because mac users go around talking shit and use shitty points.

Granted, I do know some mac users but they don't like to be open about it because they also know about the fan boys.

So, in till the mac fans can stop being dicks and attacking pc users about shit thats plain stupid (MAC: MY POWER CORD IS MAGNETIC!!) the war will never stop. and Ill do my part and try and tell the dumb fan boys to  stop ruining it for them selfs.

This is the stupidest argument.....(Dont take offense, it'll only make you look stupid) Let me break it down for some of you.. If you have a Apple Computer, good for you. If you have a Windows based Computer, good for you as well.

But here is what I don't get... If you say a 'Mac' is better the a 'PC' do you not understand what 'PC' stands for? Personal Computer. So a Mac isn't a Computer? It isn't Personal to you? The user? Well if thats the case, what the hell is a Mac?

They are both computers with little lights and programs that make us all giggle with joy when we use them, kind of how you giggled when you were 3 the day you found out your little smeakle had life in it.

Macintosh Computers and Windows Computers can all kick ass, and they can all suck ass, depends on how much money you decide to spend.

End of discusison. Get on with it. Have a nice day, oh and enjoy these photos.

Speaking of magnetism, the irony in this post is astounding. All I ever hear from you in the Tech section is "MAC SUCKS".

The most I'll spend on a new PC will be $2,700 or less if possible, more than that would be ridiculous, $10,000 for a stupid PC that will be outdated soon after? no thank you. And, errr, ew, a Mac .
