Hmmm...What about:

f(x) = sin(cos(tanx))

Find f'(x)

Here's the correct answer:

f'(x) = {[(x+1)(ln(x+1)]2}+(x+1)(ln(x+1)+1}(x+1)^[(x+1)^(x+1)+x]
May I ask how you got to that answer? I can't see any obvious mistakes in my working, and
Maple 10 agrees with my result - is there something fundamental I've missed?

Simon

PS - I'm not accusing you of being wrong just curious about the difference in answers

In complex numbers the I stands for square root of -1 because you cant have a root of a negetive since that is imposible using real numbers.

so...
i^1=i
i^2=-1
i^3=-i
i^4=1
