Alkmaar - Een zestienjarige leerling van de Christelijke scholengemeenschap Jan Arentsz in Alkmaar is gistermiddag na een korte vechtpartij in kritieke toestand opgenomen in het ziekenhuis. Voor het leven van de jongen wordt gevreesd. De vechtpartij zou gaan 'om een meisje'.
Het slachtoffer, afkomstig uit Heerhugowaard, kreeg het om kwart voor twee voor school aan de stok met een zeventienjarige jongen uit Alkmaar die zijn vriendin van school kwam halen. De jongens kregen woorden waarna er klappen vielen. Na drie stompen in zijn gezicht en een knietje ging het slachtoffer neer. ,,Het was binnen een paar seconden gebeurd'', zegt schooldirecteur Leen Spaans. Een docent zag de vechtpartij gebeuren en rende even achter de dader aan. Hij besloot zich echter snel om het slachtoffer te bekommeren. Die lag bewusteloos op de stoep voor de school en bloedde uit zijn neus. De bedrijfshulpverleners van school probeerden de jongen te reanimeren. Dat werd overgenomen door ambulancepersoneel dat de jongen in kritieke toestand naar het MCA bracht. De dader - die geen leerling is van de school - is inmiddels aangehouden'', meldt een politiewoordvoerder.

The victim, from Heerhugowaard, got in to trouble with a 17-year old boy from Alkmaar who was picking up his girlfriend from school. The boys talked and the fight began. After 3 hits to his face en a knee the victim fell down on the floor. “It happened in a few seconds”, says school director Leen Spaans, A teacher saw the fight and ran after the perpetrator. He decided to care for the victim instead, who was lying on the floor unconscious in front of the school with a bleeding nose. Some people from the school tried to reanimate the boy. Ambulance crew took over that job and the boy was taken to the MCA (hospital) in critical condition. De perpetrator – who wasn’t a student from the Jan Arentsz school – has been arrested, says a police spokesman.

you know, its a shame but the kid decided to throw down, and that can happen from time to time.

some people just have things wrong with them....his skull could have a slight deformity that makes his head extremely weak. one hit to the wrong place and its all over for some people. im sure the guy that did it didnt want to kill him, it just happened.
it happened very quickly from what it said, a matter of seconds. the kid that did it probably didnt even know what he had done. ive seen professional fighters that try to still hit someone when they are knocked out, you cant expect a 17 year old to know restraint like that, particularly with all that adrenaline pumping.

pretty sad thing all around though.

It's not really his fault, if you think about it. These things happen every day, and it was what you would call "accidental manslaughter". He intended to hit the kid, obviously, but I don't think he intended to kill him at all. I think this should be made an exception.

so you are putting all the blame on the person that won? The kid was 16, the other 17, TWO people were fighting, not just one, let your care go out to both, the 17 yrold would be suffering alot , i doubt he meant to kill the guy.
