I have 2 PCs, and one laptop in my house connected to the same network, and file sharing is enabled on all of the hard drives, but how can I share the CD drives so that if I put a CD in PC 1, I could see it from PC 2?

With XP, you should be able to right click the drive  >  sharing and security  >  share this drive.

That's what I did with the Hard Drives, but I don't see a sharing a security option for the CD Drives:

There's also no sharing tab in properties:

I know it works because I do it on a regular basis at work.  All of the new Microsoft disks we get as part of partner licensing are on DVD.  Not all of the systems here have DVD drives.

How to turn off simple file sharing
To disable simple file sharing, follow these steps:
1.    Click Start, and then click My Computer.
2.    On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the View tab.
3.    In the Advanced Settings section, clear the Use simple file sharing (Recommended) check box.
4.    Click OK.

What the hell kind of Windows do you have?

Go and install a decent one. Like XP Pro instead of XP Home.

LOL...I've installed out volume license versions of XP Pro and Office so many times that I have both keys memorized.  That's not a good thing!
