Oh, now I am thinking this: an LCD 1080p HDTV with the lowest response time at its native resolution (1920 x 1080), no frame interpolation, no scaling, etc.

Meaning I need to re-think this, and consider a different model, to bad that Sony's OLE is brand new... that is super-fast and clearer than any thing I've seen yet.

I'm not big on HDTV output, but I sit with fourteen 46" Bravia LCD TVs in front of me every day. The picture from PC is pretty decent. I wouldn't use it as a monitor, it's a bit too fuzzy and way too big for that, but plug in one of the new 360s over HDMI and they really shine. Generally very awesome televisions.

Well, see, that kind of reply.... Instead of shouting out pointless "no"s at me. You could care to explain.

Well, to put it simply, the eye is not a camera, and eyesight isn't measured in FPS. It's a constant, fluent chemical reaction. Your eye can percieve any light hitting it, no matter how frequently it changes. Perception beyond the eye is completely individual.

That's a very, very nice choice. I was using one a few weeks ago and was impressed by how much better than the 30" Apple Cinema Displays it was.

If you're looking for a monitor then you'll find it very difficult to get a TV that is of sufficient quality. Personally I've taken the smallish (20") monitor approach, with a projector (and a 100" screen) hooked up to the PC for watching stuff on and playing some games (PES, NFS, Dirt etc.) - which I find to be the best way of doing things for me. The image quality could be better (especially on whites), but it's good enough (1080p DLP with a 4x colour wheel usually provides a good projection image that is suitable for gaming/films).

There is only one problem with Samsung monitors at the moment. Their MagicTune program, which is absolutely brilliant, does not support any Video cards above the 7 series for nVidia. So my Samsung Pebble keeps reverting back to shit defaults because MagicTune tells me its incompatible with the system.
