I haven't experienced any limitations yet, but then again, I download things very little to none. And I'm not sure if it's 100% effective or not, but I also use forced encryption on uTorrent.
Couple years ago one of my roommates got a few e-mails from Fox and NBC telling him to stop downloading torrents. I don't know what program he was using. But of course, he was downloading massive amounts of stuff, so they'd be more inclined to go after him.
DC++ is where it's at. That's where you can truly take advantage of a fast network if someone in the area sets up a hub. My first year here someone had a hub and it was awesome. If I was bored one night, I'd browse around and "rent" a movie (i.e. download it in less than a minute) or check out some music. Unfortunately the guy who had the hub graduated and as far as I know, no one else has set another one up (and I don't want or care to do it myself).
