Predator had Arnie in it.
I'd continue, but I think I've made my point.
So did Eraser, what's your point?
And Kindergarten Cop.
IMHO:
Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 = A trilogy, and a bloody good one at that. Aliens is still in my opinion the best sci-fi-action-thriller ever made. Nicely named genre, I know.
Alien - Resurrection = Cashin in on the franchise a bit, but still getting a somewhat good end-result (except for that stupid looking alien-human thig which I've mentioned earlier)
Predator = A classic action movie, yet has nothing on the Alien trilogy. Alien 1, 2 & 3 are far smarter movies than Predator, which is just an alien guy wearing a cloaking device, killing people. Whoopde-doo. That same thing works in the Alien movies, because there's just a certain atmosphere that can be done with a huge acid-bleeding monster in a sci-fi environment compared to a dude with dreadlocks jumping around in the treeline and failing to see Arnold just because he happened to fall into a bit of mud.
Predator 2 = Oh come on.
AVP & AVP2 = Just.. ..no. The only thing good about AVP was to see Lance Henriksen die again (see: Aliens, Terminator, Jennifer 8, that Van Damme movie nobody can remember because it was bad, and so on). I won't bother to see AVP2. The main reason for this movie is just to cash in with as little effort and investement possible. Nice cast, I bet 20th Century Fox got the whole cast hired for under 50 bucks.
This whole conversation feels awfully dejavu-ish to me..
ConclusionIf all the movies mentioned above were playing simultaneously at the moment, i.e. as "re-runs", I'd go watch Aliens. And if Aliens was in cinemas at the same time as all the movies that are currently actually playing, I'd see Aliens.
We'd better get back, 'cause it'll be dark soon, and they mostly come at night.. ..mostly.
I need around tree fiddy.
