This is one of the reasons I try to avoid eating meat. And not only is horrible towards the animals, but so much food is used to feed them, food that could be used to feed ourselves.
My uncle owned some chicken houses and i hated working in them. they smelled and were kept at 90 deg all the time. He stopped because they wanted him to raise 10 lb chickens in 8 weeks. He raised 1 batch. they looked so unnatural. Many of them died because their leggs couldn't carry them and they starved. Most of the dead ones had broken legs. Me and my friend are stripping the copper wiring out of the houses now.
Meat is yummy, especially beef. Me thinks the animal rights nutters have been watching too much Charlotte's Web.

No, nor do i, but i have a feeling its not "meat" its genetically engineered chickens eating GE food, with large doses of antibiotics, then the damaging bacteria like slamonella become resistant, then the people catch salmonella, then the antibiotics given to the sick people don't work, then epidemics start among the chickens and other animals.
They are fed basicly drugs, and only the strongest survive. I can say alot on this subject, but i can't be bothered. If you really want to know, go and have a look. Oh, wait, you can't, the "farmers" lock their "farms" really well, they don't want us to know what we are eating.

Ermm....so what does this have to do with feeding yourself. You're attempting to use a red herring to lure the conversation the wrong way. The only way to be healthy is to eat meat, it contains nutrients that are essential to good health that you can't get from vegetables. (Well actually no, but the things you actually need to eat to replace the nutrients are unknown by any vegetarians I've ever met. Also you can't buy them outside of well-stocked health stores.)
At any rate, I'd rather eat meat and be happy than plan my diet out to fit 10 types of crap tasting nuts and seeds into my meals every day.
A lot of the meat that I eat is moose from the hunting trip. (Moose lasts quite a long time. Fricking huge animal.)
