The video below, while not too graphic, is nonetheless difficult to watch.
I can't imagine there is not a program to rehabilitate sick or injured cattle once the arrive at the slaughterhouse. I find the beating of the cattle inexcusable, but moving a cow that refuses to budge with a forklift? I think that might fall under the auspices of tools of the trade.
It seems that this business will now be destroyed because it has became a youtube sensation. On the surface, this seems to be more a reaction to animal cruelty than to any real health concern, as far as the governments responce is concerned. But, can there be any doubt that events recorded in the video happen everyday at most slaughterhouses?
