None.

Reason: They're are shit. Get a 3870 at the very least...

If I have to chose from that list, I'd say option 2, as it is the fastest of the bunch. The 3650 is the worst. Option 2 has faster RAM than option 3, and although option 3 has more RAM, speed > quantity.

If he plays on a high res. that 256mb of ram won't do any good.

So that's what many Mb's are for; high resolutions? I usually play on either 1280x960/1024 or 1024x768.

If the 3650 is the worse of all three, why then does it have all current votes and if I'd pick a 512Mb card, which one is better the 2600XT or the 3650?

If you are playing on lower resolutions, I think #2 would be my vote. Solely for its high RAM and GDDR3 architecture (I'm not entirely sure on the whole DDR4 front..)

Huh?

Option #2 IS the DDR4,.. you mean the 3650 or what?

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

OK, I decided which video card I wanted, I just have some question about the Wattage. I posted it on the ATI forums, but they're kinda slow if not dead, so here is a link to the topic:

You can just post any replies here of course.

Only 18A...

Depending on how many other devices you have connected it may or may not work. I would definitely look into upgrading your PSU soon though.

Lol, what does that mean?

Like I said there isn't much hooked onto that machine, save the CPU, a disc drive and a HD. In any case, would buying the video card and upgrading my PSU be a better option than just finding another (more expensive) low consumption video card?

I've got 512MB DDR2 OC'd at 400 Mhz and I'm running games at 1280x1024. If I pick anything higher I get a massive frame drop (Like from 90 to 30). If you are playing at 1280x1024 you don't need anything more than 512mb.

18 Amps, sorry. You only have 18 Amps to distribute to everything connected to your PSU.

That is a low-consumption card. You'd be better off to upgrade both. I know it sucks but that's what you need to do.

Somebody just pointed something out to me:

+5V / 22A Max
+5V(FP) / 2A Max
+12VA / 18A Max     <<<<<<<<<
-12V / 1A Max
+3.3V / 17A Max
+12VB / 18A Max     <<<<<<<<<

Combined power on +3.3V & +5V rails not exceed not exceed 150W.
Combined power on +12VA AND +12VB rails not exceed 360W.                         <<<<<<<<<
Max. Continuous DC output power shall not exceed 375W.

That means I've got two +12V rails with 18A on each right? If that's the case, it would probably pull the 2600XT or HD3650 quite easily. If I buy the card, do I need to configure anything for all devices being distributed equally among the two rails or do they do so automatically?

I passed by my local hardware store the other day. It was closed, but I noticed they had a HD3650 512Mb for sale at 75 euro's. I called them today to check whether it was DDR3, how many DVI>VGA adapters were included and what brand it was. Turned out it was a DDR3 Sapphire and 2 adapters were included. They only had one in stock so they set it aside and I'm gonna pick it up tommorow.

Sapphire also recommended only a 300W PSU, but the shop itself recommended an A-quality 350W and told me my 357 2x +12V 18A would suffice. So now I've got a HD3650 512Mb DDR3 of a superior brand, lower power requirements than I originally expected for 75 euro's, and I don't have to pay any shipping costs or buy extra adapters

+1 for everyone that helped; this topic can be closed.

Whoops, I missed the second rail.

I have 36 or 37 amps on my 500W PSU and I run a X1950XT without problems, so that should be fine.

Oh,.. FFS the shop put aside the wrong card. Apparently the guy on the phone understood a 3850, while I said 3650. Yep, he should receive an award since mistaking a Dutch "zes" for an "acht" requires some pretty inventive hearing.

The 3850 of course was much more expensive and the 3650 they had was DDR2. So,.. back to square one. Well, not really I can always order any of the afore mentioned, but shipping costs have risen as of last monday (lol, not much, but I'm Dutch remember). I remember they also sold a XFX 8600GT XXX 620 for 89 euro, but it sold out and I'm more of an ATI fan anyway.

Assuming by now, my uber 375W 2x +12V 18A PSU can pull anything,.. Should I go with the faster 2200Mhz GDDR4 memory:

http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/de … ue#tecData

Or the superior brand, 4 euro discount and double the memory in size at the expense of having 1400Mhz DDR3 instead:

http://www.alternate.nl/html/productDet … tno=JBXSBQ

I've heard the DDR4 isn't that much of an improvement over the DDR3 with this card, though that was about a 1400/1600Mhz DDR4 and not a 2200Mhz DDR4. Can anyone confirm any of this?
