I did it but never liked it. If you play ps2 allot for 3d shooters, you'll have no probs. Just go to wallmart and spend $20 on a basic joystick. Mine is the attack3.
you have to configure buttons for the rudders but, you'd get used to it fast.
good luck

Ive tried it stanners. Its worse than keyboard and mouse, so best off going for cheap joystick or whatever you can afford.

I use a dual analog controller (playstation type) for all game play movements... all my actions are done with the left hand, and i use the mouse to shoot..... the dual analog saves me from cramped hands and looking for the right key.... i would highly recommend it for using the helicopter, left analog for speed control, and right analog for tail movement.... after some practice it is easy... i wouldnt recommend flying a plane with it though
I just posted this because I closed the other thread with the identical topic.

Ditto on the PS2 analog controller, I have an adapter that allows me to use it.

I use it with the planes, not set it up with the helicopter yet.

Use mouse and keyboard for normal soldier movement/aiming etc.

no. what you need to get is the gravis eliminator. i play with that contollor for the game all the time. i use it for everything except flying the jets. i cant seem to configure it right. but for everything else i got run as a button crouch shoot and everything. its the best. never used a keyboard in my life and i think i do pretty well. if you need any other questions about that kind of stuff i can help you out pretty well. set up and sensitivity and everything. i think the contollers are the way to go imo

I am using a ps2 controller and i am wondering if there is a way to eliminate using the mouse with it. . .ie,
can i use my right controll stick to "look" around and left to move?     Post if ya know
