I was working on a really goood story in school, so i put it on my email, got home, clicked the attatchment, wwell i pressed "Open with" instead of save as.

So i write 10 word pages in size 8 font, keep pressing file save in every paragraph. And then close out of it to take a break, i press open, and guess what it cant fucking locate it

I have had a similar experience on my Dad's 486 back in the day.  Frustrating as hell.  Hope you find it later.

outlook saves attachments to weird default locations - have you done a search for the doc name - it will be somewhere in your windows local settings - the folders are in outlook/ temp or something

I always save stuff somewhere I can find it - before working on it

Ouch.  My suggestion?  Get Google Desktop, quick, index everything, and run a search.  Maybe it's in a Temp folder.

I think we've emphasized the point already.  Now if he just would look at his PM or this thread.

Edit: Never mind, he responded.

Hi,

Usually if you open an attachment rather than save it, It will sometimes download to your C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\. See if it might be in there. My boss did the same thing and he was using Outlook Express (Yes I know shutup) and it was in there.

Give me lots of karma if it works :-P
