newsgroups are ok just some peole still dont know how to post parts of files and some times the parts are not on the server anymore..

utorrent (mainly) and limewire. i usually download stuff at university where we have backbone internet access so i can get up to 20 MB down and up. good times. also i dont have to worry about breaking laws as they dont log our access (yay!!!)

Yep, I use newsgroups as well, I actually changed ISP cause the old gave 50kB/s max, the new one goes as fast as the connection can handle, I`m downloading over 2-3 GB/hour now!Kmarion wrote:

yeah, easynews ftw. had a friends account, loved it, got my own...its a beast. has everything. ueber fast....got 9mb down, download around 2mb/s, depending on time of day. i almost need a new hdd to store all the awesome stuff they have...i have aver 100gb unused right now...

I used Limewire all the time, but ever since torrents came out...Limewire ftl. Limewire is so buggy nowadays anyway. I downloaded BitTorrent but it wouldn't work for me, so I went and found "uTorrent" except the "u" is the micro symbol,err macro...w/e. Its the weird u in science. I think it's micro...yup it is, I checked. g2g utorrent rocks. school doesn't. im late for class. uh oh

Anyways now ive found uTorrent and ive seen the light!
With Azerous i was gettinh ~30kbs now with uTorrent i get anywhere from min 50KBs to 125KBS. yayz

To get a fast server you generally have to pay. It's like 20 bucks a month but I download at my max conn. If you are in to large files like retail dvd's or consoles games such as the 360 it's worth it.Entertayner wrote:

Hmm... Torrents hate me so the max DL speed I get is about 20 kb/s.... Less than my upload speed, and that's on a 1mbps connection.. I can't find the files elsewhere though so...
