Anybody got any cool stories?
This doesn't fall into the category of haunted houses, but it was the closest I've ever come. It is also the creepiest place I've ever been.
So about 10 years ago I was helping out some guys do artwork and brainstorming to make an old abandoned mental hospital into a haunted house for Halloween. We weren't in one of the main buildings, but a side building/room that they did shows in. So we're in there walking around, and we go down some stairs, and there's this big ass set of doors that are padlocked. But one of the guys had the key, so he's like "let's go see what's over there." It's dark out, and it's illegal to enter that part since it's state property and all that jazz, so we gotta keep the flashlights to a minimum.
This was a Mental Hospital from the 20s, so when they say these people were insane, what the vast majority of these people were was retarded. Walking through, we found one room that looked like something out of a bad monster movie. You know how you'll see the mad scientist with all the jars with liquid and random shit floating in them? Yeah we found that room.
We found another room that had straps on each side. They'd strap the patients in (standing up), arms stretched out, and hose them down. We found the electrocution room, no explanation necessary.
We found one room, perhaps the cruelest room, that was a normal room except for the corner. You'd walk to the corner, and there was a build-out, like a step in the wall. In the ceiling was a triangle-shaped opening. The area up there was very small. It was like solitairy confinement. One room had paperwork on the patients. It had named and birthdates and admission dates. Weird and fascinating at once.
This whole time the place is dark, and echo-ey. There's all these random noises. Random and unfamiliar. The building is straight out of 1915 or something. It's huge and old and in these circumstances, creepy as fuck. So we keep walking around and we find the morgue. That was a creepy room to be in. So of course one guy lays on a table and says "push me in!" So I did. Then I just let him sit there for a couple minutes before taking him out. Normally I wouldn't find some boxes in a wall as creepy, but in this place it was.
Then we go downstairs and find a tunnel. The tunnel is gross. It's underground connecting the different buildings, and at some point there was a flood. The tunnel flooded about six feet high. So we get through the tunnel, and suddenly we're in 1960. Total mindfuck. We had crossed into the newest building and it looked like the people had just left the day before. Most of the stuff was gone, but there was way more than enough to just make it seem recently deserted.
One time I was in bed, and it felt like someone was in there staring at me. So after a few minutes of this, I said "if there's anyone there, touch me," or something like that. Then I felt a feeling on my chest, and something pushed into me. But not a regular push, it felt like it literally pushed IN to me.
