Very interesting read on How much better DX10 will be for US the gamers and for game developers. What DX10 will let them do is mind numbing, and in the end we win big time.

It also points out the 2 different directions Nvidia and ATI are taking and points out that ATI with there advent of the X1000 series cards was already FAR ahead of Nvidias Fixed pipeline designs and How ATI's new beast Might possibly be a Monster of a card.

Enjoy.

That article is saying that Nvidia is not commenting on it's shader core. I am assuming it says this because it is a month old. Nvidia does indeed use Unified shader technology as is evident with the card currently in my machine.

It would be silly to bet against a GeForce 8800 GTX video card and nForce 680i chipset combination.
You can google anywhere and see the 8800 gtx uses unified a shader architecture.

It will be interesting to see, but just because it's different doesn't make it better.

Ok i guess you dont get what im trying to say here. Yes the 8800 uses Unified shaders, But as stated before, ATI's use and development of Unified shaders started way back when the first X1000 series cards hit shelves, Thus because of that Tech, you seen Much better picture quality, and also seen Better performance from the cards with LESS pipes than any of the nvidia cards.

It will be interesting to see what the NEW ATI cards can do and how well they will do it. Thats my point, Not that ATI is better than Nvidia or Nvidia is better than ATI. Im not a fanboy of neither, Im a fan of whatever gets me the best Performance to money spent ratio. I own 2 of each make of card, and Nvidia's are better at some things(like openGL, )and my ATI cards are better at( D3D games) when you turn on AA and AF they really show there Muscle.

That was the whole point of the title of the post. That and to Give a breakdown on why DX10 is going to be so much better for us Gamers.

meh. who cares?

dx10 is in its early stages. by the time im ready to upgrade again, im sure they will have added a lot more "features" and fixed whatever is wrong, etc. just like everything else, the first generation of anything is iffy.

Welp from the way the article reads, BX10 will be alot easer to use for developers and game coders. It gives them freedoms that DX9 didnt. Did you see the picture of the guy from Crysis? Man DX10 is going to be very nice to play a game with. Now, if only the cards would come out and prices drop ALOT LOL. I cant afford the upgrade for awhile, But i sure do want one, any one of them LOL.
