So i just found out my current cpu (Pentium D 820) isnt even compatible with my new mobo. Unfortunatly it doesnt support c2d. If i go with p4 it will be like a 3.4 or higher or do i got with a pentium D 805(2.66 i think).

I do listen to alot of music and such but i dont really dl while i play. with that im still kinda leading towards the 805 but i just want opinions and suggestions.

Unfortunet you cant get the c2d (gutting even) I would say D though, p4's are friggen evil, and as soon as I get my new machine I plan to take out my current p4 and blow the bugger up muhahahaha.

Seriously though go for Pentium D, Pentium 4's are awful things.

The Pentium D will work fine the only issue you will have with going to the 805 is the FSB goes down to 533MHZ from 800MHZ.  I have heard that the 805 chips are the best for overclocking from alot of my friends.  One said that he overclocked to 800 FSB with no hiccups you should be able to as well.  I like the Pentium D series alot this is the 3rd box that I have built using those processors the first was a 820, then an 830, and finally finished with mine an 840.  I got a 13700 on 3DMark 01 with just 1 vid card should be able to double that score once the SLI is finished.  My specs are listed below

ECS 570SLIT board
Pentium D 840 3.2 GHZ Processor
1 GB 667MHZ ADATA memory, within a month or so will upgrade to 2GB
40 GB IDE HDD,  Going to get 37GB 10K Raptor in the future.
(1) 7600 GT EVGA 256MB GDDR3 mem Graphics Card, will get another in about a month or so to finish SLI setup
