You could probably get one legally for under $400 at damn near any gun shop in Pennsylvania, it's a very gun friendly state.

And good video.

You could own one for as little as $350. I own 3 a Russian a Romanian and a Chinese model however they are all semi auto.

Full Autos are legal (dependent on your location) if you jump through the right hoops and can pass an FBI back ground check, but at 10-20k = no joy for me.

Yeah, only 35 states actually allow NFA weapons (basically full auto weapons), and even then they can only be guns made before 1989, which is why class 3 NFA weapons are so expensive.  You've also gotta pay a tax of about $100 a year.

Not to mention shooting all that ammo gets damn expensive.

Oh ya and the $200 tax stamp, getting your local police chief to sign off, two sets of fingerprints to send to the FBI along with the paper work, which must include a less than 6 month old passport type photo, then the six month or more wait.

Lots of fun it's almost the same to get a short barreled (less than 16") rifle just different form. This ones cheaper though as you can SBR any rifle buy just having the stamp come back and then having the rifle you filed for numbered and cut down or short barrel installed. Did this to my AR. 7" barreled m4 flat top carbine oh ya! Won't go through it again unless I can some how afford an FA.

I got mine in 1993 for $300 at a gun store in vegas. At the time they were having problems with china or something so they shipped them in under a different name Mk-90 or some shit, I'm not sure I'd have to look at the side of it too see the stamp again.

Norinco Mac 90 is what you were thinking of. Those were imported as SPORTERS after the ban of such "EVIL" things as flash hiders, threaded barrels, bayonet lugs, pistol grips, and folding stocks. I have one as well as an SKSD sks sporter from Norinco that takes AK mags instead of the fixed 10 rd box mag. Both have blond thumb-hole stocks. That ban has sunseted so those evil features are available again.

I and most other gun owners don't consider the Mac 90 an AK as it was not a military weapon to start and converted to civilian use, but instead designed solely as a civilian weapon that could pass the ban. Due to this most parts are not interchangeable with an actual military-civilian conversion just from one Mac to another with any luck. They do look nice with there pretty bluing and all.

Yes but that is not a good idea as it is ILLEGAL as all hell and also unsafe due to the way it works. Think KABOOM!!!!! Any idiot dumb enough to try it if you find out how (don't even think about asking me) and try this deserves the jail sentence or even the possable self mangling it could cause.

Yeah, the way it works leaves a chance for the gun to fire when not in full battery, which means un-supported case blowing up in your receiver, which in the worst case could cause sympathetic detonation from all the other rounds still in the magazine.

What I think is funny, is that the BATF had to release a memo saying shoestrings were illegal

https://img77.imageshack.us/img77/3777/stringtrick1ev.jpg

You can see the inherent danger here, you don't have everything just right in the length of your string and how tight it is you could have rounds going off prematurely if the gun isn't set up properly.  A real full auto trigger actually has parts in it that prevent the gun from firing out of battery, not all semi-auto only guns will.
