I am able to run version 91.47 with my XFX Force 6600GT card without any problems.DaveOnrefni wrote:
That happens to me in BF2 whenever I use anything higher than 78.xx Drivers for my 6600GT. I get a nice performance boost from the newer drivers but it's kinda hard playing when EVERYTHING looks like that. ..so thus I had to stick with my 78.xx drivers >.<

- is any body else getting this???
it is a 6600 gt card, and it isnt overheating, i have a built in fan on the card and an extra fan on the back of the tower.liquidat0r wrote:
I reckon your card is over heating...
"Why is it over heating?"
Because it cant cope with the game
Its very hot in your room
Its faulty.
It needs the dust cleaned off of it.
Probably one of those. What card is it?
Can you check the temperature? Are you absolutely sure it isn't hot?Sh4d0wF0x14 wrote:

Because overheating causes artifacts just like in your screenshots.
Have you overclocked your GPU? Too high clock on your chips memory might be another reason.
how do i find out the heat of the card and i dont know how to clock or overclock or whatever, if someone can fill me in on that it would be good. thnx
Speedfan can show You the temps:Sh4d0wF0x14 wrote:

You can also see the GPU (graphics card) temps by clicking:
Start - Control Panel - NVIDIA Control Panel
and finding/clicking on a temperature menu somewhere.
Try this quick fix (quoting Spikeles):
For anyone with those wierd polygons going all over the screen you need to
DISABLE WRITE COMBINING in your display settings.
Right Click Desktop
Choose Properties
Click Settings Tab
Click Advanced Button
Click Troubleshoot Tab
UNCHECK "Enable Write Combining". Make sure the little check box is CLEAR
Reboot and play your games without hassles.
Also make sure you have disabled Speculative Write Caching( or something like sounds like
that) in your BIOS.
(To view Your BIOS hit Delete when Your computer is booted and recognizeses the HD (hardisc) on the black screen).
If You don't know anything about OC (overclocking) then chances are Your CPU (computer processor) and Your FSB (front side bus) and Your RAM (memory sticks on Your MB (motherboard)) and Your GPU (graphics card) aren't overclocked (running faster/at a higher frequency) which produces extra heat.
So if You suspect Your computer gets too hot You have to make an air intake/duct in the cabinet side to let more fresh air in to the GPU (craphics card). This really helps a lot. Try to take the cabinet side off first to see if that helps.
Having solved the very important temp problem(/no problem), You should update Your Motherboard drivers from the manufactor's homepage.
Having done that You should update Your Graphics Card driver, I've written a quick guide:
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?show … ntry106528
Having done that You should try the quick fix again.
Having done that and still having problems You should ask the NVidia forum guys about Your problem. I don't have a 6600GT card so they problally know a lot more.
Having done that and still having problems You should contact the graphics card manufactor to hear if You can RMA (get a free new replacement card).
ppl with similar problems:
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?act= … t+artifact
Hope this helps, mate.
PS: I have a 7800GS+ and got the same errors. Removed the OC of my FSB and setting the RAM timing to factory settings seems to have cured the problem . My GPU is highly OC'ed.

Maybe they didn't have time to finish building the titan, like the second Deathstar. Those must be hard times on the military, they need as many titans in the air as possible and looks like they rushed that one.
Even though in the screenshots the shield is up, maybe extensive hull damage? Possibly from previous encounters with the enemy?

if anybody knows of anything and and i mean anything then please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated. i am asking here as i trust you people, but i am going to get my computer guy out as well to have a look.
but yeah anybody?

anybody at all????????? please?????????????
I've had the same artifacts and posted above but:
Here are a few things that could make the artifacts dissapear:
(start with no. 1 and see if that helps)
2. Do not overclock Your graphics card memory (GPU RAM).
If this doesn't make sense then Your GPU memory is as it should be (not overclocked).
3. Do not raise Your FrontSideBus in the BIOS and set Your RAM sticks timing to factory standard.
If this doesn't make sense then Your FSB and RAM timing is as it should be (not overclocked).
4. Go into Your BIOS (hit Delete multiple times when booting) and disable "Fast Write".
On my com this is done by entering Advanced Chipset Features - AGP&P2P Bridge Control - AGP Fast Write (disable).
(Use Arrows Up/Down to navigate, Enter and Escape to jump in and out of menus, change by hitting PageUp or PageDown)
(remember to save before exiting)
5. You should update Your Graphics Card driver, I've written a quick guide:
The best way to uninstall old drivers and install new (thanks to www.mvktech.net):
1. disconnect from net.
2. disable antivirus
3. uninstall current video driver (remove Nvidia from add/remove programs in controlpanel).
4. reboot
5. as the reboot comes, after the quick memory test/HD recognition, hit F8 and enter safe mode.
6. Win XP safe mode will autodetect new hardward and ask to install driver. Cancel.
7. run Driver Cleaner Pro (www.drivercleaner.net) with filter for Nvidia.
8. quit and repeat step 4 and 5.
9. install the newest video driver 9x.xx.
10. reboot.
11. start antivirus and connect to net (reboot if nessesary). This is the best way to completely remove an old driver and install a new.
12. install DirectX.
13. install overclock tool Coolbits (www.laptopvideo2go.com/nvtweak) (not needed unless OCing).
14. reboot.
15. Install monitor driver.
Having done that You should try the quick fix again.
If Your did all that You are no longer a computer n00b
Having done that and still having problems You should contact the graphics card manufactor to hear if You can RMA (get a free new replacement card).
Hope this helps, mate.
