So I recently bought a new computer about 3 days ago from cyberpower pc....

ASUS p5NSLI motherboard  nforce 570 sli 775
intel core 2 duo e6400 2.13
320GB sata II 3GB 16MB 7200 RPM HD
Cooler Master liquid cooling kit
windows XP media center 2005 XP MCE 2005 SP2 Media Version 2
2 X EVGA Nvidia 7950 GT 512 MB PCI-E cards
Aspire Iceberg 680W power supply

and I've loaded the newest tested drivers and when I play 2142 it yesterday would randomly crash on me to windows, just close the game down.  then today I've being researching and really trying to figure it out.. even used PC optimize and Reg clean up and now it the game crashes  when I get to the loading server screen

on FEAR i ran the test and get average 94 FPS average with 180 high but a couple days ago I got 113 FPS average with over 200 high.

BenchMark06 score is 8660 but was 8863

I have done no overclocking yet because it just doesn't seem stable...

I installed the security fix for XP cause I saw that might help

just don't know what to do?

yeah, well, thats what you get for making me hate my Pc with your rad pwnage machine.
A friend of mine had this exact same problem. Install the game to the the folder "eagames" instead of "battlefield 2142" your install path should look like this "C:/ProgramFiles/Eageames", For some reason when you install games that dont work and crash to a different folder they work. Try it, it probably will fix it.

actually, the latest drivers have some issue which reportedly causes this. use drivercleaner and then install some 3 or 4 versions back. see if that works.

also, i seriously doubt if the issue is with the name of the folder. more likely it was the reinstall that did it.

also, if you deleted your movies, this also causes some issues. if you do reinstall, make sure you leave the movies intact. yes, it is an extra 20 seconds you want back, but it allows you to alt-tab the game, and could prevent crashes too i guess.
