I seriously hate the idiots that ban me from their server because i have a low rank and go 65 and 10 on their server. They say stuff like, your only a corporal, no way you can't be that good. Bla bla bla bla bla, they think that a little symbol next to their name and their precious kdr means everything. Some people are really frekin stupid and stats are everything they think about when it comes to skill.

Well rank does determine how I play the game with others online, sorry if you think that's stupid. That doesn't mean that I bomb everyone with a low rank as a n00b but if both a captain and a private are waiting to get into a chopper with me, I'd prefer the captain yes?

I for one like my stats, it's a nice part of the game, it gives you a purpose and doesn't make it just another meaningless shooter *coughcounterstrikecough*.

If it was a private and a captain, i wouln't prefer the captain so much.. for all you know it could be a general with lots of experience (and skills) that got the private bug... but if it was a private first class... Rank doesnt necessarily mean anything, but most corporals really are bad players.
Id take a gunnery sarg over a pfc any day, because i know the gunnery s has played bf2 for a longer time, than the pfc has on his account.

Much better to solo in a chopper than take a risk and pick up anyone below first sergeant or so.
It's a difficult subject to discuss really. Certainly I would think my rank would denote that I am better than someone who is a private. But of course people can start new accounts, as I have done, and play on those. Generals don't have as much skill as corporals or sergeants sometimes.
I think K/D ratio tells you alot, especially on weapons rather than vehicles. If you have a good K/D and its on mainly infantry I would say that person is far better than someone with a rank of general who just flies jets - I'm sure I'll get some stick for saying that - but you need more skill to be accurate with a weapon that a j-10 or f-18 and a joystick.
So Rank doesn't tell you alot, but look at their stats in game and then rank and then you will get a clearer picture of the quality of play or look up their names on here. Of course the anomaly is with hackers who will be both high and low ranks and will get awesome scores - although not always, if ur getting 20/6 and hacking you really are just rubbish - and basically prove the rank theory completely wrong. ya, i got banned from a knife and pistol server yesterday on my ^patton1337^ account because i went 41-0 with a pistol, and the admin said lance corprals cant be that good =/
Ranks mean a hell of a lot when it comes to aircraft. Any counter strike player could come on this game and play decently on any infantry map. However when it comes to aircraft, when i see a sergeant waiting for that f-35 on wake, i am reminded of an instance when one took it, inverted it, and crashed it into the arty island. Generally NCO's have no idea how to fly, and I for one, avoid them like the plague. And if i cant, i eject them, theres no reason for a complete tard to ruin the chopper for me or any other player that knows what they're doing.
There is always that new account exception, i took up a sergeant major yesterday who was somewhat amazing in the gunner seat, i enjoyed flying him around. Turns out his account is pure chopper, hes got expert already, go figure.

Yeah colts did rape our entire team, and it wasn't a 5v5, it was an 8v8. We kinda were stupid to rush in all at once, one my one. We would've had that round if it wasn't for colts. Lol, because we had another flag and if he wouldn't have taken that one single handedly we woulda had 3 flags + chopper meaning we could easily pin them down at their main. Conspiracy is a tough team, but we have beat them, and we could.
