I'm building by bro a PC for Christmas. I'm trying to keep it under $600. He's (or is wife actually) just going to be using it for college work. I.E. word processing, web browsing, all that good stuff. So no graphics/sound card required. No high end parts needed. Just decent, reliable parts to get the job done. I built this list on newegg.

I tried to get the Core 2 Duo E6300, but it was twice as expensive ($181.49) as this Pentium D and I didn't think he would really notice a significant difference between the CPU for what he's going to be using it for.
