When I try to start my computer the orange light showing harddrive work stays for like 1 minute then goes out and nothing happens after that and my moniter and keyboard don't detect my comp being on.

My specs are on my xfire profile page. Please help.

HD Light for a minute or so, but no BIOS screen? God, that could be any number of things. Do you have on board video? I'd plug  in just the monitor and a keyboard and then disconnect EVERYTHING internal. HD's, ram, external video cards, sound, etc. Then turn it on and see if you even get the typical beeps of a monitor complaining about No Ram. Stick some ram back in and see if you get a BIOS screen.

Take it out? Ok, nvm. If you're not up to a hardware level where you're comfortable taking our ram, this problem may be beyond your technical ability to fix.

Yes. If you've never taken apart a computer then i don't recommend trying, it could break something even worse.

Are you able to see anything on your monitor before it craps out? Do you have a boot disc or a Windows installation cd?

if you have your win xp cd, pop it in and try to boot off of it. if that works, do a repair install.

Now if you're still unsure of what to do, start lookin for a computer shop or anyone who can help you (like physically aid you in fixing). remember to pay attention to what they do, try to understand.

I think restarting your BIOS would be a good idea. I'm sure someone knows a site where it is shown in easy to follow steps. Or check your Motherboard manual.

Okay how do I do that?

If it helps it started well I was playing Oblivion. After a while it locked up, I heard a loud jamming sound and all the colors got screwed up. I then restarted and it stayed at a screen saying "boot from CD" (in that case the Oblivion disk). So I restarted and took the disk out and then it was like it is now.

Try to hit delete while the computer is starting. If you manage to get in to BIOS try and locate something that refers to booting and has a list of devices (HD, CD, DVD...) and check that the first option (HD - Hard-drive) is set to on or automatic or something similiar.
