Whats the deal with the screen an all, I know you can write on it, but do you get a mini image of your screen on the tablet too? So you can see what your doing on there?

can that be used to make photoshopping easier? as in, transfering things from pics to pics, specifically?

It mostly is used for drawing in Photoshop. It really is a lot easier than with a mouse. A lot more control since you can control the opacity of your brush by pressing harder or softer.

I'm going to get on in the furute as well

Can anyone answer me about the tablet face itself? How I can tell where I am drawing?

Is there like a button on the pen that starts drawing or is it just touch and go? And can I look at the tablet while I am drawing and see what Ive drawn? Anyway at all? Even if its just some marking?

The idea is to have a pic of what you are going to draw on the tablet.

the tip of the pen is a pressure sensitive button.

not on the one that i used. like i said in the first post, the idea is to draw it on paper with a pen/pencil first. either way, you can see it come up in Photoshop as you are drawing, so looking at the tablet doesn't matter much.

Ok, so moving the pen on the tablet doesnt just move the cursor? It just moves and draws?

hover the pen over the tablet to move,

press with the pen to draw.

I have a Wacom Graphire 3, works great but I am getting the Graphire 4 in a while because I want a bigger tablet. Wacom always has good stuff, I say go for it .

I have been using  Graphics tablets for 10 years now. The CAD package I use needs a tablet to work. My first tablet was a Kurta which still is the best well built tablet I have ever used. I now have a Wacom A3 because Kurta went out of business. The wacom pen is alittle light for my liking but it doesn't have a battery or any circuits in it so its very robust. I have used the USB and Com port versions of the wacom tablet and I found the Com port version gave me uninterrupted use, were as the USB version would stick and jump abit when say printing to my plotter and small printer at the same time. So if you use a lot of USB devices I would try and get a com version, although they probably stopped making them.

I´ve got a wacom and a genius, and both work great.

They do improve the pic editing and cad productivity.

I own a Wacom Graphire 3 A4 & A5 format tablet. They are pretty sweet for any graphics work.
Thus the Volito is even better, but more expensive.

The tablet does NOT display your screen, it works like a regular mouse. You move over the surface of the tablet to move the cursor.

I'll post a movie. Hold on.

It's that cheap because it is the A6 version (A4 double folded.) Search the Intuos versions, they are even better (WideScreen support).

Cheapest one of those I found was over £200. Nearly 6 times the price for double the pad area, seems a bit off to me.
