In some of the posts showing peoples desktops I've seen people using a vista theme of xp.....not a beta version of vista.

I've googled around abit but not got anywhere.

Can anyone tell me where i can get this theme from?

You can download Vista if you like. My friend got it on Torrent for me and I've been using it for a month or so. It's the version they gave to manufacturers for the imminent release so it's kosher and it seems to work fine for all my games and peripherals.

Find a program called Windows Blinds. It can simulate vista if you want, although it is a little buggy.

Ok, a theme for xp....not a torrent

: I don't want to get bummed over by microsoft, or stuff not working for that matter.

You have to patch your uxtheme.dll for xp, then you can use other styles ...
Patching removes the requirement for an MS digital signature on msstyles.

Once you have done this look for msstyles:

Download windows blinds, it's not illegal, you can use themes that make everything look (although not act) like Vista.

yeah but it eats resources, patching ur uxtheme is not illegal .. and the themes are free and legal also ... not to mention the stability aspect

But if he wants the glass look it doesn't work with uxtheme 'cos it doesn't support transparency

Glass is one of them (not the only) ... there is a glass theme ... buts its a trick matching it up with the wallpaper. But yeah it doesn't support transparency.

windowblinds is fine as long as you have a decent computer (i'm assuming you do because you can run bf2 and/or bf2142). if you have a budget pc (like i used to), windowblinds just muddles everything up.
