Has anyone seen this before? His name was orange. He appeared to be cheating. So, is this some way to spot hackers?
It has to do with modding your localization files. its not a hack or cheat of any kind.
You can mod your files to make your name appear in orange to other people?

They do it by putting the code for orange text at the start and end of their nick, thus tricking the game into displaying orange. I thought EA had stopped this though...

Another guy showed up right after this and the text for his name was 4-5 times bigger than everyone elses. Then he started spamming some website. So, he got banned. I forgot to take a ss of that though. Then the guy in orange started spamming the same website, then he also got banned.
Yeah I remember this coming up here before. With BF2 though. It is a bannable offence (yes, by CD-key, want to keep playing you buy a new CD-key, which in 2142's case is a prick due to the account/CD-key binding thing they have on it). I read some where it's how EA distinguishes their own in house BF2 admins from ordinary players.

While I have no interest in an orange name, I fail to see how the color of your name gives you an unfair advantage over other players anymore than putting all the ~/\*#)@! crap people seem to like to put in their names.
Players may not change (hack) any core games files or effectively change game settings by employing external programs or cheats for the purposes of giving themselves an unfair advantage over other players.
The only context I could see applying here, is the name that appears over players while the game is in play and not in the HUD or score displays.(f) Modification of Player Names which would alter their size or colors.

its not... you will just recive a email to the email that is pinned to the account.. about it and if it doesnt change itm will be banned...Ender2309 wrote:
