nforce chipsets

i searched and didn't find anything specific to this.

i have a question about nforce chipsets on mobos. i see some with nforce4 and others with nforce 590 and whatnot. what is the difference? and which one is newer?

clarification on this would be greatly appreciated.

higher number = newer and better. Just more chipset advancement such as higher FSB and whatnot.

yea but the new core duos don't rely on the FSB as much do they cyborg?

yea i know that silly, what i am saming i thought that the core duos did not use the fsb to over clock like previous intel processors. i only have one in my macbook pro so i could be talking out of my ass here.

Yes. You still need to use the FSB to overclock the multis are locked. Only extreme edition chips dont have locked multipliers. But core 2 duo performance is not FSB or cache, more of it's Clock speed.
