All I have to say is . . . BULLSHIT.  In their only loss, Michigan lost by only 3 points to the #1 team.  Florida, on the other hand, lost by 10 points to the #11 team, yet they give it to Florida?!?!?!  BSC is a pile of steaming crap!!!!

Again, BUUULLSHIIIIT.

You want to give the Gators the edge based on scheduling? Florida didn't exactly beat vintage Alabama, Georgia and Florida State teams this year, and Central Florida and Division I-AA Western Carolina were dreadful.

And look at the one loss each suffered by Florida and Michigan on their schedules. You tell me which defeat was more impressive: the Gators' 10-point road loss to an Auburn team that finished the season No. 9 in the BCS standings? Or the Wolverines' three-point road loss to an Ohio State now favored to win the national championship?

Florida lost by more to a worse team.  BSC is crap.  See below:

And the BCS penalized Michigan twice for being on the wrong end of the calendar: once when USC moved to No. 2 after beating Notre Dame (even though Michigan beat the Irish worse), and now, when Florida overtook the Wolverines (even though U of M's season ended two weeks ago).

How can you call this a "system" when Florida belongs to a league that plays a conference championship, and Michigan doesn't? How can you call it a quasi-playoff when Michigan drops twice in the standings without losing a game.

I'm not addressing who is favored to win, I'm talking about who has earned the right to play Ohio State.  By the numbers, Michigan should be there, not Florida.  Doesn't matter that Michigan played Ohio State before.  That was the schedule they were given and they manhandled every team they faced and nearly beat the #1.  Florida does not reach that standard, losing to the team that is now ranked #9 by TEN points.

Florida State!!! in a playoff system it will be the same as this ... numbers 17 and 18 will be mad that they didnt make the playoffs and it would be just like number 3 is now ... so this way is just as good as the other way

Comparing Florida and Ohio State is difficult because comparing any two teams across different conferences is difficult. They haven't played any of the same teams so it's difficult to judge their strengths relative to each other. The SEC is undoubtedly the toughest conference in NCAA football and I think the game will be closer than most people will be expecting.

And personally, I wouldn't mind seeing an OSU-Michigan rematch, because it would be a huge game and of course it would be fun to watch. But that game has already been played and I think FSU deserves the chance to play OSU.

Wrong.  It would not be the same.  There would be no argument because whoever lost in their bracket goes home.  Period.  No voting Florida in when they lost to the #9 team.

its not the bracket part that is the problem ... but how do you choose the teams to go into the playoff? ... someone is gonna get screwed over ...

The BCS is flawed. If you take Florida (12-1) and Michigan (11-1) before Florida played Arkansas for the SEC championship, Michigan would be ahead (as was reflected in the standings at the time). Plain and simple, Florida played an extra game against a top ten (#8 to be exact) and then was able to jump ahead in the standings based on the human vote (the BCS % was the same). I think a solution would be for Michigan to appeal to the Big 10 to divide the conference so that they get a conference championship game.

Good idea.  Michigan should appeal to divide the conference so they get a conference championship game.

Even with a convincing Florida win over Arkansas the numbers don't lie. Florida lost to a number 11 Auburn team by ten points. Michigan lost to a number 1 Ohio State by three points in "The Shoe". In a nuetral site, with a second chance, things would be different.

Florida FTW. Tougher strength of schedule, and none of the voters wanted to see a rematch so Michigan was toast from the beginning.

If you go through the SEC and make it out with one loss, and win the conference championship that team deserves a chance at #2.

Michigan was the #2 team in their conference at years end, case closed...

Ridiculous.  It should be OSU and Michigan.  And I don't like either team, or Florida for that matter.  But Seriously, the best 2 teams in the nation are Michigan and Ohio State.  Florida looked downright bad at points this season.  BCS is fucked, it's all about money, nothing about the game.  That is why college basketball will always be > college football.

ok, how about this: enough about what happened this year.  Just wait until next.  We (Michigan) will show them (don't know, NCAA?)

Sry, do you remember the S. Carolina game.. 1 point.  I'm from S. Carolina and I love them, but U of M is my team and this is bullshit through and through.

Yes, the SEC is a very tough league to play in but Florida did not show itself as a dominating team.  They won most of their games against D-IA teams by less then 10 points while their one loss was by double digits.

Finally, you can argue all you want for Fl. to be in the game, but you can't come up with an agrument on how Michigan doesn't deserve to be there.
