hey guys, im needing a little help with sony Vegas 6.  what i want to know is how do i add a special effect to part of a clip i have but still have the whole clip in the film i.e. if the film is 1 minute long how do i add special effects from 20 seconds to 30 seconds of that clip. 

and does anyone know where i can get more special effects and things to add to my sony Vegas (free btw)

Have you tried using the 'S' key to split the video up into the parts you want to add the effect to. If you do that then you can just highlight the bit you sectioned out and add the effect to that clip. It's position on the time line wont be affected. No idea if what I said makes sense but try it.
