You guys are great. Im active duty army. Its cool for 4 yrs. but you get tired of it. Dont bother yourself with short distance runs. 2 miles is the standard work on that. but sit ups and push ups are part of it too. you might want to work on that. dont get to small 100lbs and u'll get pushed around.

.Lawton definatlely a shit town, you gotta drive 40 miles outside state lines to Wichita Falls, Texas just to get to halfway decent club, and that one sucks.  I swear to god, all Grahams Central or Grand Central titled clubs BLOW
ha, fucking shit hole of a place.  i always went to oklahoma city to have fun.  gotta tat down in texas.  i was only 20 when i was there so getting into bars was a task.  back when i was in the whole "photocopy and stick someone olders information to the back of your military id was in"  just sucked during random formations that they would have each person show their platoon sgt their id so no one was tampering with them.  i never got caught though:)  The only good thing at ft. sill is the fishing.  hell ya dude, i would go off the beaten path and find ponds that hadn't been touched in ages.  huge largemouth on that post.  other than that, it fucking blew, i was from illinois at the time, so driving home was out, flying home for the weekend was gay.   stuck in the middle of hell.  i even got pulled over the day i was driving home when my enlistment ended.  cop let me go with warning after i told him my situation and that i'd never be back in his shitty state again!!!

worst winter in ft. sill?  nah, tornado season definately, but winter no.  standing outside at 3 a.m. in the s. korean winter wearing a "bear suit" and frozen boots, pulling bullshit guard duty brings back the worst winter in my life.  and to top it off, after  2-hrs of guard duty, i would jump back into my hemitt and the fucking heater would be blowing cool air.  now thats fucking cold.  i remember doing jumping jacks to try and give me fucking heat/energy.  had to cocoon in my sleeping bag in the drivers seat to stay warm. oh man that sucked.

wow, i'm ranting.  just brought back some fucked up memories.  but all for the better.

Congrats. All I have to say is this to you. Have a fun 12+ hours at MEPS getting all of the stuff done. I went last Thursday and enlisted in the Navy, and spent a good 15 hours there, 4 of which were actually doing something.

It's not too bad if you get to know some other people who are there, regardless of their branch. The time will fly if you're having fun with the other people there.

The plus side out weighs the downside of MEPS.  Another reason for me join there is someone else involved that I want to see.
