Contact EA Support and tell them the problems you are having. There are only three reasons why this would happen that I can think of at the moment, One your key is being used by someone else, you entered the key wrong, or the Key is broken from the get go. Either way EA can help.

i had a similar problem from the installer after i put it my key and it patched it up it said it had thewrong key and i  checked it and it was just a mess of random md5 hash(least it hink thats what it was). but once i re-entered it every thing was fine. if where u put it in at doesnt have the 5 seperated blocks then dont put dashes.
all else fails call ea so they can tell u which key to edit.

Search the forums on install issues. There was a post somewhere that told you to make a registry change for the cd key and that fixed the same issue with mine.

This is what I got for an error when first installing it, It "refreshes" your cd key lol.. which means you manually enter it without their crypto and it works... WHY it doesnt work for some lucky people (you and me) I dont know.. But I do know it fixed the problem for me.  Dont forget to add the x9392 before your cd key no dashes and it should help.

'Invalid CD key' error after installing the patch.

Sometimes a conflict in the updated files can prevent the game from properly identifying your CD-key.  Usually, refreshing your CD-key will resolve the issue.  Note that this will only correct the error if you used the same Windows account to install, patch, and troubleshoot the game.  If you have switched Windows accounts at any point it is recommended you uninstall, reinstall, and repatch using the same Windows login.

   1. If the issue persists, you will need to uninstall the game completely and then reinstall and repatch to completely remove and replace corrupted files.
