But yes i am a gunner/pilot whore i play chopper alot and it goes through *ALOT* I would like to kno when some patch or somthin is comein out for that cause if it didnt go through i would have like x2 more kills that i do in heli
The exact same thing happens in my vid (hitbox behind the heli). I've got so used to it I almsot never aim for the actual helicopter when it's evading, I just always aim just around/behind it and 90% of the time I'll get the kill.
PS: I play on the Battlefield.no server a lot and the only times my TV goes through is when I hit the heli instead of just behind it. Tail + just below cockpit = almost always hit.

That first shot was too far ahead of it. And it wasn't a very hard shot either if you know where to go with it.slicknic wrote:
honestly im not sure where that first shot should have been... i probably would have missed it too.ssonrats wrote:
This is starting to piss me off now. It happens more on the battlefield.no server i have found, look at this clear hit (IMO) on an enemy chopper. (the first tv i mean)
Where am i going wrong, where is the fucking hitbox then??!
The second one missed but hit and the first one hit and missed :S
my guess would be slightly higher? because they were at a slight angle declining possibly, but thats just one of those shots your gonna miss once every blue moon. that or more near the tail? tough shott.

It took you THIS long to figure out there was hit detection errors? Forshame. Good Helo'ers have gotten way over this issue long ago.
that statement is obviously not true if you still don't know where the hitboxes are, good try though.GaMeR wrote:

I find it's easier to think about where they really are. Like if you have a ping of 40, and they have a ping of 80, you might see them ahead of where they actually are. So therefore aiming behind should work. But it's not always like that obviously. A lot of ppl use the "went through" excuse when it was nowhere near. I did too in the early days. Sometimes it really does go through, but alot of the times, you are just aiming at where your system sees them, and not where they really are. I find that the ones that REALLY go through, you end up seeing the inside of the chopper you're shooting at. If you see the pilot and the gunner from inside the chopper, then that shit went thru.
As always, I'd like to point out that I'm an idiot, and none of this may be true.

well you werent gunning at the time so you cant honestly say that. its very hard to recognize those small directional changes (like when they are just going straight up gaining altitude slowly, and you cant really tell that because of how the cam is) In this case they were going forward fast... so he compensated, aiming slightly forward.. and then they were tilted and sliding right/down, and not going forward so fastAjax_the_Great1 wrote:

you could just say no shot is a hard shot... which is true, when gunning i honestly feel there is no reason i should ever miss.. but there are tricky ones that can catch you off guard

EDIT-embedded the movie
Its the server / ping / some secret settings you can configure urself
server is responsible for all your fancy reload bugs to.

shot one - you missed the tail, barely. you were aiming for the right hitbox area.
shot two - you were most likely on the edge of the lagging hitbox.

***This is what I was told...***
Interpolation
This setting changes what you see on your screen compared to what is actually there.
Ex. You shoot a tv missle at an enemy cobra taildiving and you miss what you see on your screen and magically hit 10 feet above him. Or you hit what you see on your screen and nothing registeres but the ocasional sound.
The lower this setting is from the default (which is 1200) the closer the hitboxes are to the target on your screen in movement.
SettingsManager.U32Set<Space Here>GSInterpolationTIme<Space Here>any number lower than 1200 will help but a lot of people use 400, I use 1
Extrapolation
Extrapolation is the reverse for the above. This is what dictionary.com says.
Extrapolation: to infer (an unknown) from something that is known; conjecture.
It helps me but the lower the number the better and the default is 100.
SettingsManager.U32Set<Space Here>GSExtrapolationTime<Space Here>any number lower than 100
