I took "twist's" advice & found a well priced skt 754 pci-E motherboard. Its a bonus that its SLI & the reviews are very postitive.

What im going to do is keep my current CPU, HDD, RAM etc.... & only replace my mobo & video card.
Here are my choices.
----------
Motherboard- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6813123257
(As opposed to my current VIA MSI AGP mobo)

Video card- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814150185
(As opposed to my current x800GTO AGP)
----------

The only worry I have is my 350W Antec Power supply. Im wondering how much more power a 7600GT uses over my x800GTO? I dont plan on buying a 2nd 7600GT, so I think my 350W PSU can take a single 7600GT right? I cant see it being a massive power sucker.

I think you should get a 500w Power Supply ... You might have problems if you don't.

Well my current system runs fine....the only changes to it are the new mobo & 7600GT.
Im just trying to figure out if a 7600GT uses anymore power than a x800GTO does.

Strapped for cash this christmas so these 2 upgrades are as far as my wallet stretches.
I can always upgrade PSU later, but I just need to know if it'll work for a while.

I dont plan on buying 2 7600GT's.
Only a "single" 7600GT as I said before. I just need to know that a 350W Antec PSU can power a 7600GT...as it has my x800GTO.

Believe me if I ever buy a 2nd 7600GT, i'll upgrade the PSU. but for now its only 1.

Ignore warlord.

X800GTO uses about 45 watts
7600GT uses around 75 watts

350w is more than enough to power your system with the 7600GT.

ANy comments on the motherboard? is it a good choice?
By the way which PCI-E slot would the 7600GT go into lol.
One closest to the CPU or furthest away? Considering it does have 2 slots, its a bit confusing.
Its my 1st SLi mobo.

I used to have an X800GTO² and upgraded that exact same XFX 7600GT card. The 7600 is a little better than the x800, my x800 got 5000 in 3Dmark05 and the 7600 got 6000. I can run Bf2 maxed out with the 7600 at 1280x1024 with very few problems. Another feature the 7600 has over the x800 is shader model 3 support so games like Bf2 will look nicer. I thought the x800 graphics were rather bland compared to cards with Sm3.0.
I would of thought the 7600 would use less power since it doesn't require a 6 pin power cable like the x800 does but I'd still try get a better PSU as 350w is a little low.
And that motherboard looks fine.

Just my two pennies.

500W is an overkill.. I ran an X800GTO, DFI LanParty, A64 3200, 2 Hard drives, 3 disk drives on one occasion and many external devices happily on a 450W.

power supplies are cheap now, especially with the new 1000W+ models out there. you could easily get a good 500W for around $40-50. trust me, more power then you need is a good thing.
