A 10 Thunderbolt: The 30 mm GAU-8/A Avenger Gatling gun. One of the most powerful aircraft cannon ever flown, it fires large depleted uranium armor-piercing shells at a rate of about 3,900 rounds per minute (50 rounds per second during the first second followed by 70 rounds per second). The massive shells and high muzzle velocity allow the Avenger to destroy heavily armored main battle tanks in as few as 6 direct hits.phoenixgunner wrote:
Concerning aircraft cannons, the F-35B uses a 25mm Gau-12 with 220 rounds and the J-10 uses a 32mm, the Mig-29 has a 30mm GSH, which should be the same as the Sukhois.
Depends on the jet. Lots of western fighters have 20m cannon (Vulcans mostly I think) but the Russians favour 30mm.R3v4n wrote:
What kind of round does a Jet shoot? .50's?
The Warthog fires 30mm too (from seven barrels) and the ROF is reputed to be enough to slow the jet to a stall if the pilot holds the fire button down too long!
The pilots of the A-10 have only 23 seconds of ammo. (were they to hold the trigger down till it went click)
The bursts are in quick increments, because anything longer than 8-10 seconds threatens to slow the plane to stall.

we need a sniper gun with those bullets!
Slightly off topic, but can anyone tell me what the caliber is on an RPG? (If it has one) I heard from my time on Americas Army that it was .75
